As an explanation for double life, everyone has a soulmate and they share a health bar. If your soulmate dies, you die too so that’s why everyone is connected by strings. Pearl (Pearlescentmoon) won Double Life but she basically had a villain arc the whole time because Scott (her soulmate) broke up with her for Cleo. Pearl was dubbed as insane during Double Life. Grian also cheated on Scar (his soulmate) with BigB (Ren’s soulmate). Joel and Etho were paired. Martyn and Cleo were paired but broke up and Cleo went with Scott, leaving Martyn alone. Impulse and Bdubs were paired.

13:59 Those are actually canary wings! They’re an allusion to the canary curse that Jimmy canonically has in the life series and the curse started because Jimmy had died first each series. The reason it’s a canary is it’s like a canary in a coal mine and how often if something’s wrong in a coal mine the canary is the first to die!

13:58 they’re canary wings! The intro is everyone’s final deaths, in reverse order from last-first to die. Jimmy is first to die in every series (until secret life, but this was made before that) and as such the fans have assigned him the “Canary Curse”- like how coal miners used to bring canaries with them to detect gas leaks. the canary, being weaker, would die from the CO2 and stop singing, giving the miners a warning to GET OUT OF THERE.

Double Life: Everyone has soulmates; two people randomly have to share a health bar with another person. The purple heart/strings basically represent ‘secret soulmates’ between BigB (the guy with the cookie) and Grian. Scar was Grian’s true soulmate and was unhappy after finding out about Grian’s relationship with BigB. Ren (BigB’s soulmate) was also upset about BigB meeting up with his ‘secret admirer’ (although he never realised it was Grian as far as I know). When Grian dropped the drip stone it killed Ren which in turn also killed BigB since they were soulmates. Important: You see Cleo and Scott together a lot, but they are not soulmates. At the beginning of the first session Martyn and Pearl went to the nether instead of looking for their soulmates. They came back and Scott and Cleo decided to go against the soulmate system and be soulmates anyways (they didn’t share a health bar). Martyn also ‘broke up’ with Pearl, leaving her to go insane. Martyn tried to win back Cleo’s heart, but accidentally killed her making their relationship even more complicated. Scott and Pearl on the other hand never made up and were frustrated with each other until the very end. At the end Scott uses tnt to kill hi self; leaving Pearl (technically) the victor since she was the last one to die.

You were talking about how crazy Joel looked and how some characters were excited about the killing. That's because of being a red life. In most series they are the only players allowed to initiate PVP battles. Though, Joel is by far the most bloodthirsty of all players, and is typically the only one excited to role boogeyman when it is in play. I also think Joel has spent the most time total across series as red, due to spending most of Last Life red. if you are looking for more animatics to watch, Dancin' by Rusty is a really cool one that shows all the team-ups and winners from the various games!

Ok, to address some of your questions though this does contain some spoilers. The rotting monster looking thing in Here we go! by Noxlotl was a warden that TangoTek named Ranchers Revenge and brought to the surface as revenge for GoodtimeswithScar burning down their ranch. In Battle Cry by EverenArt the bull/rhino looking thing was a ravager that Grian named after himself and set loose to kill. Jimmy SolidarityGaming often gets given yellow canary wings and canary symbolism by fans because he was the first to perma die every game for the first three games. He was the canary in the coal mine and when he died then the series usually only lasted one or two epesodes more before everyone was out. Double life was a series where everyone got a randomly assigned 'Soulbond' who they shared a health bar and set of lives with. So a person could eat to regain health for their partner but if one of them died they both died. In Limited Life Skizzleman let his teammate Etho kill him because the mechanic would mean that Etho would gain another 30 min of life and he didn't want to die at the hands of another team and let them have the time bonus. Not many people talk about this one, despite its technical brilliance. It's a Third Life animation, so IDK if you know anything about that, but I think you'll find it cool!

Evil Anvil's songs: they cover the first three seasons currently and are really well put together using vocal snippets from the actual episodes! There is also one she made of Martyn and Jimmy (two of the content creators) reacting to her third life one lol 😅 2. Curses by Chrisrin: THE last life song in my opinion, absolutely amazing animation 3. Rusty_Courage's "Secret life episode ___ in a nutshell" animatic series: an episode by episode animation series with fun little moments from various people's perspectives each session in Secret Life None of these will probably make too much sense without background knowledge, but they should still be enjoyable (:

Ok so besides the Life Series/Hermitcraft animatics I just recommended- you should also check out The Magnus Archives animatics! TMA is a horror/tragedy podcast centered around the fictional Magnus Institute in London, a research facility around, quote, “the esoteric and paranormal”. It’s *great*, and the community is full of amazing artists and writers! I’ve never once seen a TMA animatic I DIDN’T like.

Maybe like two-episode parts where each pair of episodes is its own season? I would love that. The characters and their stories are so lovable and tragic when they die.

The yellow angel wings are a reference to a bit of lore for Solidarity, where he has what’s people call the “Canary Curse”. Something to do with always being the first to die. (IIRC, please correct me if I’m wrong.)

Hi! I’m here form your Epic reacts and I was ecstatic when I saw you had a recto on to animations form my favorite KZbin series ever, the Life Series. I love all of these animators and animations, but Noxlotl is my favorite. I REALLY hope we can somehow get her into the Epic community because she would dominate the animatic aspect alongside Gigi. I really hope you decide to watch the actual life series. Even if it’s not as flashy and cool as some of these animations, there are some insanely cool parts, such as Grian’s drip stone kill and all of the endings like the Grian/Scar showdown, Scott’s sacrifice for Pearl, and even smaller moments like when Skizz sacriificed his time for Etho in Limited Life.

late to the video but if you end up watching more of these, id recommend "times up" and "dancin" by rusty_courage (all seasons), "W.I.T.C.H" by three-eyed hex (double,) "CODE" by Nuno the Kitten (all), "HEY KIDS" by Bayleaf (all), and "i turned last life into an animation" by bantaro ft music from evil_anvil (last) also explanation of the basic rules and season gimmicks for those who don't know basic rules: a person's name is green yellow or red depending on how many lives (or how much life) they have left. yellows can kill greens, reds can kill anyone. the exception to this is the boogeyman (in some seasons.) the goal is to be the last player standing. boogeyman: each episode a random player becomes the boogeyman. the boogeyman must kill any other player before the episode ends, regardless of name color, or else they will go down to their last life (or lose a certain amount of life.) (in animatics, boogey is usually portrayed using partially/flashing red or purple eyes) third life: season 1, no gimmick, no boogey. 3 lives. last life: all players are assigned a random number of lives (2-6,) you can give one of your own lives to another player, and the boogeyman is introduced. double life: 3 lives. everyone is randomly paired with a "soulmate" that they share a health bar with. no boogeyman. limited life: instead of lives, everyone has a timer with 24 hours. above 16 hours left is green, above 8 is yellow, and under 8 is red. dying makes you lose an hour, killing someone adds 30 minutes to your own timer. boogey is back, and the time penalty/reward for death is doubled for boogey kills. running out of time means elimination. secret life: 3 lives, no boogey. each life has a bigger health bar, but you can't regenerate lost health like you can normally. at the start of each episode, each player is given a random secret task. once completed, the player is rewarded with 10 hearts by the "secret keeper" statue. if the task is failed or uncompleted, nothing is gained (but nothing is lost.) players can also swap to a harder task, with greater rewards and greater consequences. sharing your secret or having it guessed by a yellow player is a failure. hearts can be gifted between players. real life: special april fools one-off episode using virtual reality minecraft. standard rules, no boogey. its relationship with canon is... complicated wild life: currently on episode 1, as of writing this comment. six lives. no boogey (yet, at least.) in each episode, a "wildcard" is activated that fundamentally changes the game in some way (ex., in ep1 you can make your in-game character grow or shrink to different sizes) we don't know much else yet. this comment got pretty long, but i hope this helps someone out.
