my grandma was going through financial problems and couldn’t pay for her storage unit. she had all of my baby pictures and my dads pictures and many things that mean a lot to me from my childhood. my condolences to anybody who has been in a similar situation.

watch the shows of people trying to win the storage units a lot of the time people end up over paying or barely breaking even because as far as I know you are NOT allowed to enter the storage unit until you win so it truly is a big gamble. I can only recall one episode of some storage unit show where a couple went home rich AF (they do it as a day job) who happened to find a $10k 3D printer (it was when 3D printers were mostly new and most 3D printers were worth $1k+ and they didn't know what it was nor the value until researching the serial number and contacting the manufacturer) and some $20k+ Leica brand camera (the camera was hidden in an old drawer and was apparently used by law enforcement) in a storage unit and they spent like just under $1k as most of the stuff there was trash

I purchased a unit full of instrument boxes (guitars and amps). The total used value was 16 to 17K in estimate. The boxes were empty. BUT they were covering up 72 brand new replacement speakers for guitar cabinets in OEM shippable boxes. Carvin, Celestion, etc. The street value is 3,600.00 at a discount to undercut the trending price. We had 1,637.00 all in for the unit.

We had floppys, then cds, then USB flash drives for storing data. Floppys had like 16 to 32 MB storage, cds had a max capacity of like maybe half a gig, and USB sticks now go over 100 GB.
