Holding a stock for long term is good idea. But now I am investing a lump sum amount. I am holding it for 20 to 25 years. Imagine it yielded enormous profit during that period. Long term tax comes here 12.5%. fortunately or unfortunately that enormous profit puts me at 30% tax bracket. Now it is 30 + 12.5 + other taxes. I hear that Government is considering 35% in future. Might be, it may happen in future. In that case, it is 35 + 12.5 + other taxes. Now all the profit has cut half.
