We're simply pending this switch, it's going to happen based on public perception but the difference the UK has currently compared to the US is that the US is likely to get a conservative government while the UK is likely to get a labour (more left sided) government. At an individual level people have been pushing back against this for some time - it just tends to take a while for the government and media to catch up with regular working people as they really are extremely out of touch in the UK which is what enables these kind of issues to begin with.

Well that is blatantly obvious in the commercials alone. If I was a first time visitor to the UK and I saw the commercials on UK TV as an introduction I would presume that the majority of the population are black. I have no issue with black people or ANYONE appearing in commercials but I do believe they should be representative proportionate in regards to the nation they are advertising to. Also I never realised that there was so many mixed race couples in the UK which according to commercials again is the majority which we all truly know is a load of nonsense and is not a high percentage at all. Something else I think is ridiculous is the credibility destroying of their own dramas by ITV. Some of their dramas are supposed to be reflective of historic periods YET all of a sudden we have multiple black performers portraying roles that WAS NOT black at all. It is totally discrediting the credibility of the time period and reality it was set in. You can't change history no matter how much they want to throw a political narrative down people's throats. It is the same in entertainment with the ridiculous replacements that are going on. For example if I was a casting director amd I wanted to cast 'Snow White' I would be looking for a fair skinned white female to portray the part, if I wanted to cast 'Mulan' I would cast an oriental female in that role and so on and so on. Why there is this obsession with turning characters black I do not know, if it is a black role then get black performers but there is no need to erase a white character and reboot the character as black, it is just nonsense and that kind of thing causes more resentment than any so called intended awareness. I can guarantee if it was black characters being replaced by white characters it would not go down so why is it ok to erase white roles?
