ITV - Lorraine - Louis Theroux Interview (25/4/12)

Broadcaster Louis Theroux is back with a new two-part documentary called Extreme Love. In the first part he went to America where he explored autism and new treatments being employed to help it's sufferers and their families. For the second episode "Extreme Love: Dementia", Louis meets people suffering with dementia and their carers.

Louis is great. I watch anything he puts together. I've seen just about all of his documentaries. I enjoyed listening to Lorraine's voice and accent. We have some vicious, abrasive battleaxes on TV over here in the States like Nancy Grace. It's difficult to listen to those hateful old crones for more than a few moments without feeling nauseous.

No he's just takin' a break. It's hard to get contracts with the BBC due to budget cuts during tough economic times and moreover it's harder still to find novel topics that have not yet been covered by other networks.

This as a clash of opposites. Theroux is a great investigative journalist and uses calming and welcoming forces to get info. He's one of the very best. Lorraine, despite doing this sort of thing for years doesn't interview for real substance, all her questions are scripted and so it's wooden to the point I'm unsure she's even listening to what he is saying to her.
