ACC had made heavy hints before then about wanting ownership of *Thames*. In any case, Grade's fate was sealed by the ill-fated AFD films venture and the mistake of trusting Robert Holmes a'Court. I’m not an expert on the history of the independent ITV regional companies, but I’m glad I grew up in the 70s/80s and have the fond memories of jingles before each programme and quality television compared to today’s offerings of complete shit!
