It's lovely to go back in time every now and then. Thanks Rob, listening to these songs now. Thinking of mum and happy times 😊

Also I just realised the track listing is wrong. The first three I don't know the names of, but 3 isn't Tennessee Railroad. (It's number 5, the one played at 3 is from the late 70's but was reused in mid 80's) 4 is Sunny Standby. 6 is Spring to Life 2 7 I don't know, but isn't Clockwise 8 is Clockwise

You must be eleven years older than me, as I am now 52. Takes me right back to the innocence of childhood. I have a very good memory for tunes and can recall them easily!

Wasn't this music from All Creatures Great and Small? Johnny Pearson composed the theme music for that programme. Takes me back to junior school late 1970s/early 1980s! The first tune, of course.

In my primary school the staff room doubled as the TV room. This music brings back memories from the early 1980s of sitting cross legged and the waft of second hand cigarette smoke floating around.

Funny how these tunes are all buried in the subconscious, despite having never heard them in decades.

This brings me many good memories from when i was a kid hearing these tunes in the school classroom in the late 70's early 80's waiting for 'The Land' & many others to begin.

Did ITV Schools have shares in Bruton Music? Seriously, great post.

Certainly brought back some memories of school, clearly recalling all those tunes, one I liked was Running in the Wind which was the one minute clock.

HAPPY DAYS! Indeed Scott. When I.T.V. was Regional Fun and not a P.L.C. I learnt as much watching these programmes then at my Disability School. Much better then Jeremy Kyle and Loose Women. Best Wishes From The New Forest.

and to think this was a commercial channel producing a morning of educational programmes without adverts in between 5 days a week! It was possible then because Britain was a social democracy (in its own idiosyncratic way), but now no commercial organisation could sustain such public service requirements, because the regulation is off and chucked in the dustbin, and only money counts.. only.

There was me hoping we were going to see the clock counting down towards the end.... That said, I remember better the Channel 4 incarnation of ITV schools, with its 3D spinning logo and the disc that came on to count down the final minute up to the programme ... can't get the tune out of my head now!

@@RobRobintvThanks very much for your reply,and the answer RobRobin.I feel silly as I now see it was listed.I have been trying to figure out where I went wrong,and was because 2 tracks are listed as track 3,and others are in a different running order. .. I am so glad I now have the complete list,as this is my favourite set,which I have listened to countless times.I find it very therapeutic and calming.Also so good that is is of such good quality,as other uploads elsewhere of some of the tracks are of poor quality,or not complete ,or both.. Thanks again mate.

Out came the school TV, wrapped in wooden doors, perched on 4 wooden, elongated legs. We sat cross legged on the gym floor, waiting patiently for it to spring into life. We never knew what to expect back then. How I miss that innocence and wonder.

Did a Spring to Life 1 ever get used? Or was it only 2 that was chosen from the library albums?
@MrEurochannel6 жыл бұрын
only 2 was used, the underscrore. 1, I think was the main tune. I heard it once used over one of the still cards before the clock, but in the following term when the clock music had changed!
@FloatiesBoy19784 жыл бұрын
Spring To Life was used in Spring Term 1982 as the main interval track as well as the countdown clock.

Was the play out for this from A.T.V. in the Midlands?
@christopherwilliams20936 жыл бұрын
Yes it was, then Central took over responsibility from 1982 and so they were also responsible for providing the schools service on Channel 4 and S4C in September 1987.

@@christopherwilliams2093 Hi Christopher. Lovely to hear from you again. Sadly my brother passed away in 2018 Cancer.. So I really am on my own now. A question if I may. Did Yorkshire Television have a six week trial of Breakfast television in 1978? Best wishes to you .
