It’s always Trent that has these interviews. 3 years ago the spotlight was on his defending, today it’s about trust and his ability when he’s the best RB in the world. Trent won the PL and CL by 21 years old, but there’s always a different tone when he’s in the hot seat.

The interviewer sounds like Gabriel Clarke. It's one of his worst interviews. Cold, interrogative and just made Trent have to work quite hard in his answers. The thing I REALLY want to see over anything else for Trent, is to see him play at least 20 games unshackled from the defensive responsibilities that have held him back for years. Everything he does well is in attack. Every single world-class class trait of his, is an attacking one. His weaknesses, (although nowhere near as weak as people make out) are defensive ones. Simple as that. Those overly polarised defensive responsibilities/shackles, in my opinion, have stopped him being even better than he already is. On numerous occasions, that defensive narrative has destroyed him. For me, if you stick trent in the nu 10 role, free of all shackles, with his main aim to find space, to roam to wherever that space is.... you'll see a top 5 player in the world. He has all the quality of KDB, yet because he's so polarised about his defending, he's suppressed. Unleash him for the love of God!
@ginomoujik84885 күн бұрын
I had an idea for Trent at #10 in January after Bradley showed what it's like to deprive opposition of an easy plan. The shackles is not only defense unfortunately.. it's physicality football requires. Pulling out of 50/50 challenges, losing the ball and then not try to recover it, puts a strain on the team. Sometimes we can deal with it, sometimes it's enough for us to lose.. Trent's passing when not under pressure is top class, but sometimes it's not enough to create if defense do their part. Under pressure the quality of passes deteriorates considerably. You see hurried passes to a teammate in a worse position. Nice quality on long range shots.. he should be scoring more goals and he will in Madrid. Trent's finishing in the box is poor.. he scuffles his chances. This latest 'feared defender' talk is weird. Don't say 'I want', just do it! Best case scenario, we sell him in January, he'll enjoy the next 18 months, but then teams in La Liga wise up to his frailties.. and we win back to back Prems..
