ITZY always gets a thumbs up. Thank You. I appreciate You. Japanese MVs come out before the album and always unannounced. Also this is a full album not a mini or EP and a lot of JPOP groups are doing multiple MVs these days for full albums.

ITZY Japanese songs are composed by the same folks who compose their Korean stuff. Sugarholic composers also wrote Thats a No No and Cheshire. Voltage composer wrote Not Shy. Spice composers did Kidding Me. Its probably why their discography blends. It’s up to JYP a&r to select songs for ITZY. From what I heard ITZY will be getting a new a&r leader for the next cb

English twitter with the "rumors" again : One person on the a&r team departs and suddenly that was "The head or team leader" Do not expect any change of direction for ITZY anytime soon. Their last 3 albums all sold over a million with Increasing numbers each time. You don't make changes to a WORKING FORMULA because some loud (nonbuying fans on English social media) make some noise. English twitter (Europe and the USA for the most part) don't contribute enough to ITZY's sales totals to even matter a tiny bit, so they are, as they should be, ignored. I am talking about the 30,000-60,000 albums combined that English speaking nations contributed for each of their Million seller albums. Not even 5% of the sales COMBINED for Europe and the USA (excluding France, who does buy a lot)

Love your ITZY reactions! Sugar-holic is such a chill vibe, and it reminds me of None of my Business but also Freaky and Spice (from their previous JP release). Their JP a&r team are different from their KR a&r team, and I do feel like there are just different goals for the different markets (Sneakers made top 5, and Cake made top 20, on the KR charts). But often the KR releases get more international attention than their JP releases (which is a shame, and the geoblocks to reactors don't help too 🙁). I'm hoping the new KR a&r team tries for a darker title track for ITZY, even if it just does OK on the charts...they've already proven themselves as one of the top ggs of their generation anyway.

Not really. No, same A&R. Sorry, It's just JYP himself has been in the Japanese Music market so long he understands it, he knows the sound that Japanese fans like and want and he has his teams cater to that. They don't make KPOP for Japan, they make JPOP for Japan. The fact that all JYP groups find success with their releases in Japan should be proof enough that they know what they are doing.

@@incheonguy @incheonguy I may have to check the credits again but ppl from the Warner JP team were credited for the a&r iirc. The producers are usually the same for both KR and JP songs though, you're right

Jpop doesn't sell outside of Japan. Kpop (korean releases) have world wide appeal because of the western music genre influences that global fans love. They love hiphop mixed with house or EDM or latin, trap, moombathon, etc. They love that mashed up sound of KPOP. And JPOP strips all of that out and goes for the more traditional sound and composition. SO MIDZY and people who are already fans of groups say the "japanese songs are better" but that just means they really prefer a JPOP sound over KPOP. They just don't realize it. Nor do they give Japanese artists, who do the same, any attention. The Japanese albums do not sell even 1/12 the number of their Korean albums. Fans sit online and say how much they love the song and the sound but DO NOT GO AND BUY IT. Hollow words if you ask me. If fans really love the JPOP sound more than KPOP, they should speak with their wallets and take it to the same level of success as KPOP is world wide. They don't. Why? Because it's all talk and not purchased.

That's fair. I do also think that some of ITZYs JP releases sound like some of their Koren releases. Thats where I come from tho. I don't think their JP releases are too far from their sound with their korean releases. With some groups I can see the clear different between their JP and KR sounds, but with ITZY both KR and JP sound like ITZY. Thats just me tho

@@thesavguard3 ITZY has a sound in that they have a common theme in their music and lyrics, but as far as the composition from a composing standpoint, their Korean and Japanese songs are structurally different. Because Japan resists European and Western genre influences. Some subtle bits can creep into the music but for the most part it's not as noticeable nor as blatant or jarring as it is presented in KPOP. Kpop has been genre splicing for the last decade and it's the sound that global fans eat up. Where as JPOP struggles to catch any attention outside of Japan and they don't even try to market it to any other country. So honestly hearing fans rave about their Japanese releases every time as another way to shit on Korean releases, without them even realizing, if those are NOT just empty words for the internet, that they like JPOP more than KPOP and if that is really true they should buy the JPOP albums, and support JPOP idols. Otherwise, I find their praising Japanese production of music hypocritical. I don't mean you, as you have never uttered a negative word about any ITZY release.

imo.. ITZY Korean release are great but it's "saver" for korean's ear.. while Japanese release area way more braver..
