So basically IU is one of the most respected idols and songwriters in Korea. She’s dealt with a lot of backlash and rumors about her which this song alludes to and she is basically telling everyone to back off and respect her boundaries or else they’ll be crossing a serious line. She is one of the most powerful vocalists in kpop (see the good day mv if you don’t believe me) and she has a very unique style that no one else really does. She wrote her own music and helps with production vocal arrangement mv design and so on. She’s also hilarious and is considered to be one of the most beautiful idols because she fits Korean beauty standards to a T and she’s also just beautiful overall inside and out. To add to this, she is also an artist that once used her platform as a way to promote aspiring musicians during Melon awards in 2017 when she sang "dear name." She also gave a beautiful speech during her Grand Prize end of the year award in early 2018 to help accept that even as an idol, it's okay to still be human and not to be too inclined to "suck it up" when it feels like schedule >> self. I actually learned about BTS when I kept seeing Jungkook crushing on her at the award shows. I was an IU fan first and the crush piqued my interest. Now I love them both for their individual talents. Obviously we as fans know thats not true, but thats how they are seen. an artist is considered those that play instruments and sing and write songs.. you know the traditional musician... and Idol is someone who just gets handed lyrics in a sheet of paper, learns the words. One fan she gifted a $2500 mic to, because she shared the same dream IU once had and wanted to help her succeed. Another fan she sung at the wedding because she didn't have much money to spend on her dream wedding as she paid for her siblings college and things. During her performance at the 2017 Melon Music Awards she invited others from the industry on stage to sing her song "Dear Name" with her, people who had just debuted as a singer, some who have been in the industry awhile as backup singers but may not be well known, and even street performers. All so that they could have their name be heard, as they share the same dream she once had herself. She donates to charities, recently for her 10 year anniversary she donated to a charity to help underprivleged children in her and her fans names.
