The safety team is one of the reasons i got into indycar some years ago. Even in a smallest wall brush, they're always quickly on the scene. Great thing to have in such a high speed racing series!

I remember an interview with Dr Gary Hartstein when he was the F1 medical chief and he said Indycar had the best safety and medical team in the motorsports world and he pushed for a similar set up in F1 but didn't get it.

You would think being the pinnacle of open wheel racing also means having the best medical coverage too. Apparently that ain't the case.

@@izzdin6228 His interview is worth a watch, I was a bit shocked myself. From memory it is him and another Doctor that just supervised local teams of very varying quality which lead him to quit. Apparently some countries basically said he'd be arrested for being paid to treat an injured driver because he wasn't licensed in those nations. He pushed for a big change to legal framework with regards to that but got no where because the FIA and F1 just couldn't see any issue with the situation.
