Tae nailed it ❤Nd I think it's NOT abt IU protecting Tae or they representing them both just as couple in a love story.... the MV has more deeper meaning like Celebrites / artists like them in the entertainment industry judged by ppl/fans / haters abt their personal choices in love life IU ( her charecter is deaf in the MV) representing ppl in love the ones who don't want HEAR what the society /fans tell them wrong and right abt their Love life Taehyung (his character is partialy blind) representing True/pure LOVE = Love doesn't need to be perfect it just need to be TRUE or Love is blind ( Tae showing all most every emotions of LOVE : Fear , cuteness , pureness , tenderness , happiness , helplessness , bravery , rage...in 5 min MV Dammnn!! @@blueberryj4351 and what about IU's piercing on her lip?.. somewhere I read it was a symbol of not being able to talk, or not being allowed to talk. Yes, IU here is described as mute. (He is not deaf but mute). Does the piercing symbolize those who cannot express their's because they will be attacked by the cube? According to the director of this MV, Here Cube acts as discrimination. So I think the main character in this MV is actually the cube. discrimination love?..what do you think?..is there such discrimination love?..because the title of the song is about love. what kind of love comes under attack by discrimination, they fight back. Love and discrimination fight then love win but at somewhere else? Because the cube is still there, while IU and Tae gone. 😢 confusing but astonishing.......

Deaf n Mute ppl both use sign language to comunicate w other ppl ..So they're not mute But decided to keep silence instead say it loud idk for me ...the piercing symbolize more 'not being allowed to talk' : do not express their own true feelings abt their personal choices in LOVE openly.....cuz the fear that they will be attacked by the cube/Fans cube/judgemental society/fans always be there to does discrimination towards their favorite celebrities and ruined these celebs freedom/happiness in life... 😢even tho these fans love those artists.....

This was beautiful LOVE STORY! V especially did an amazing job with acting! He took us through so much emotions and the intensity in his eyes went straight to my heart. Looking so much to his acting career!

The director explained that the cube is society and V and IU have flaws with his blind eye and her being deaf and mute. The people at the wedding are pointing at them and not clapping. The camera is them seeing world with no prejudice and hate. How they want to see it..and the pile of clothes are ofcourse from the society of imperfect people..but love is the real story here..IU guided V and he protected her til the end..😢

Wow, wow, wow! I remember how impressed we all were with V in Hwarang, The Poet Warrior, especially the death scene. Now he takes us on an emotional rollercoaster with this MV. So absolutely captivating! The V-eautiful man will be soooo busy when he comes out of the military. BTS activities and world tour, solo releases, a major movie, for sure, with loads of modeling and endorsements. Salute to V and much love to IU!

Soooo happy you reacted to this BRILLIANT performance! Your reactions are a must for me to watch. My feeling is that this is representative of the social media era. The cube is the power of Social media and how it relentlessly hunts everyone down. IU & V have physical, what would be perceived as, imperfections. He with his scars and one blind eye, she with her scars & muteness. The camcorder is not showing past and present. It is showing that they are really perfect to each other and are whole. Social media makes everyone hyper aware of their so-called flaws. Once IU & V realize they are who they BELIEVE they are, they are perfect to each other with or without a lens. The faceless people in the banquet room are Netizens (who hide behind social media in their faceless way) and who are always trying to distract and point fingers and just be annoyances, however IU & V are now confident in themselves and just laugh at the Netizens attempts to distract and point fingers. But the cube/social media is relentless. It chases our couple down and although they put up a good fight they are overpowered by the searing burn of the hatred the cube emits. IU & V stare down the cube but alas they are overcome and their human life is destroyed. Yet their love is all that matters, all that ever mattered. That is something that could not be taken away by the Cube or the Netizens. That is the ultimate power.

There are so many layers of story telling and metaphors and the director has explained what the storyline is. It’s a beautiful way for him to convey the message. In addition to this one part of my interpretation is based on the fact that Tae is blind in one eye and has burn scars around that eye. You can see at the beginning he is looking vulnerable, fragile and afraid. IU is leading him and is protective throughout. My interpretation is that he had encountered the cube before and narrowly escaped being captured and so is going through all the emotions from it. At the end, you see IU trying to protective him by picking up the metal bar because (to me) she knows what he went through and wants to protect him. And Tae taking the bar and attacking the cube looks to me like he knows what the cube is capable of and despite his fear of it, he wants to protect her. At the end it didn’t work and you can see the cube glow red with heat and smoke coming off their bodies (burn marks around his eyes). The ending was so poignant. The song was amazing and felt more epic because of the storyline and visuals. They have great chemistry, first with the amazing duet they did on IU’s Palette and now with their acting skills, not to mention their interactions as friends. It’s so good to see Tae being able to express his acting skills even in a 5minute short. I hope he starts doing movies on his return. This movie really makes everyone feel emotional and they did that with their facial expressions, truly stunning. IU is queen for a reason and Tae our idol of idols never disappoints in his unique take on life and the choices he makes, whether to make an album of music he likes or to act in a short film all choices with a sad, emotionally moving ending. He wants his artistry to move us emotionally rather than hit the top spots on charts. Love these two artists. It’s time to stop calling this kpop. These two with their amazing acting, packed in 5 mins all the emotions to convey the storyline (top tier level) that most kdramas do in 16 episodes.

The upgrading of the music increase the momentum of the scene. Many reviewers gotten the feeling the actors were potraying in less than 6 minutes..plus the V and IU vibe as a strong factors IU already great on her own as 1 of the top soloist for 15 years and going stronger with masterpiece and award winning acting in 'my mister' and 'broker' (winning best film award in Caines). Its only natural to collab with those who are beneficial with good chemistry. Should check out her concerts and song list. Not denying this MV helps to boast V acting to another level.

I guess the ‘cube’ could be looked at as the box that people are put into, whether it’s race, gender, sexual preference or those with a supposed disability. Everyone is put into a group ‘box’ ‘cube’. Cubism should be banned. Beautiful representation of fighting against those that bully or suppress. They did good.
