IU Reaction - Deep Dive Album #16 - The Winning

“Shh...” is a song that describes the complex relationships between women. The first verse, sung by IU, is about her mother; the second, sung by Hyein, is about her first friend; and the third, sung by Jo Won-sun, is about her seniors and inspirations in the industry. For this song, she really wanted to collaborate with different generations: Patti Kim (Narrator), 85 years old; Jo Won-sun, 51 years old; IU, 30 years old; and Hyein, 15 years old. There is an interview on her KZbin channel where she talks with her mother about this song and what it represents to her. At the beginning of the music video, we see a story between a mother (IU) and daughter (Tang Wei), and by the end, we see various photos of mothers and daughters, along with a sign that reads "Mobius Strip" and the beginning of a new story. This corresponds with the narration: "A story known by everyone and no one at the same time," because while everyone has a mother, each story is different. Fun Fact: During her encore concert in Seoul, she sang this song while displaying portraits of various women who inspires her.

It's very rare to find someone that will go through all of IU's discography, b-sides and all, but I want to say I do appreciate the time you took to go through it all. Now the only thing left for you to do is see IU in person at a concert, whether that be in Korea or the next world tour (hopefully in the next couple of years).

@@SylverReacts Maybe the next best thing in the mean time could possibly be a theatrical release of the HEREH encore in Seoul like how The Golden Hour was released worldwide in theaters. Also, I don't recall if you had this on your list anywhere, but you should check out a song called Sogyeokdong, I don't think a lot of people know about it, it's almost a decade old, but it's one of my favorite IU songs. There's two versions of the MV/song one by IU and one by Seo Taiji. In short, the background/story of the MV is about a boy and a girl that lived in the area during the time when South Korea was still under a dictatorship and the two MVs are telling the story through each of their perspectives. You should watch IU's MV first and then Seo Taiji's MV to understand the story.

This album was really made for concerts. And im fortunate that I've seen and hear this all live last june 1 in manila. 😍😍😍. Its soo good. Her live vocals makes you speechless and i just want to close my eyes and just listen only but she put lyrics on the screen. She wants uaenas to sing with her 😅.so we sing along with her hahah. Best concert experience.indeed A core memory. If only im rich. Im going to follow her in other shows in other countries coz after i experience her concert i want to see her more 😅. She's honoring them but the song/she is explaining the complex relationships between them. It's also emotional because she included a picture of herself in the back acknowledging that she is among them.

The Winning is very unique, bcs its a "concert album". I think its totally produced for world tour and to reflect iu's state of mind in early 30 y.o. I really enjoyed taking this trip with you; you became my favorite IU reactor. The child dancers were different in each place IU visited on her world tour because she held auditions in each location she visited. I recommend watching interpretations of IU's music videos, as you can see hidden meanings. For 'Love Wins All,' I recommend the interpretation by Uaena (kzbin.info/www/bejne/bX24oWOceZpmmcksi=tFeGcmgdrDihmR2a). In 'Shopper,' the telescope and bat are significant. The telescope was gifted with a cushion during the encore concert, and IU commented that it's good to focus on what you want to see. The bat refers to a dokkaebi, a mischievous goblin in Korean folktales that has a magical bat granting wishes. IU wanted the bat at the auction, so she quickly took it without following the procedure and threw money as she left. People focused on picking up the money instead of the bat. Additionally, when she leaves in the car, she offers candy and asks to be friends. 😄 In 'shh,' she wears mismatched heels from the beginning of the music video. Writing this is getting long, so I should stop here... it could go on endlessly. I recommend checking out the behind-the-scenes stories for the latest album on IU's KZbin channel. Shh.. I consider this another of IU's 'Sulli' songs. IU said the song was about three women. Her mother, a grade school classmate, and a third who IU never divulged. She describes a complicated relation with someone who left the world on her own terms. This wasn't the first time IU played a streetwalker in a film. She also played one in the film Broker.
