Alice! Hi! Omg I know exactly what you mean. I literally have seen so many reviews bashing toners and even serums on Amazon because they say “this is just mostly water, buy something else” 🙄 or they’ll say watery toners feel like water so they don’t do anything. Love the IUNIK Beta-Glucan cream! Ugh yes sensitizing bergamot oil is a huge no for me! which is why I haven’t tried the centella gel cream even though the brand tried to convince me that it wasn’t harmful. It’s so frustrating to read those! Like..what’s the alternative lol! Yeah I’ve seen a few brands make those kind of claims and I don’t get it. People can react to anything (some struggle with topical hyaluronic acid, even though our bodies naturally produce it). It seems like it would be misleading to claim an ingredient can’t possibly cause ANY reactions! Hope you have a great weekend too! 😃💕

@@AliceintheRabbitHole right? 🤣 It’s a universal solvent… I know some brands use aloe vera as the first ingredient to appease the No water types I guess lol. Agreed! I’ve been surprised seeing all the people that’s allergic to niacinamide, even though it’s one of my favorite ingredients. Isntree recently came out with a 20% niacinamide serum and I’m just like why!? Why are we going higher in percent? Why not make a 5%? Papa recipe has a huge 5% serum that they were kind enough to send to me for free and it’s just not suited well for my skin but I like that it’s 5% nonetheless.

That beta glucan serum is a holy grail for me but ur right they really fell off the radar! They arent super popular in korea to my knowledge and they haven't released very many new products lately besides their sunscreen. i noticed theyve done a big promo cycle in the last couple months or so, with some boyfriend skincare challenge or whatnot, but other than that its been crickets. love hearing your thoughts as always!

To be frank, most of the kbeauty brands that is popular on youtube skincare community is not that big within south korea. Cosrx, Isntree, Klairs, Pyungkang Yul are probably the handful that has some degree of popularity and fame in south korea.

The timing of this video is spot-on, 2 days ago I just opened iUNIK's calendula cleansing oil I bought like a year ago and was pleasantly surprised how much I love it! The scent is something I really like (subtly floral), nice weight (not too heavy nor light) and does amazing job in clearing my pores. It's now possibly my favorite cleaning oil out of many I tried, and hence I started to look into their line again.

The Beta-glucan breakdown is appreciated. The ingredients list can be interpreted in so many ways. The claim next to the % is a strong selling tactic. I get a reaction from witch hazel & bergamot so I hope they are left out of anything I am curious about. ✨Thank you for sharing!✨

@@AliceintheRabbitHole the main complaint i’ve heard about it is a slight whitecast, but if i recall there is no mineral filters, so i’m assuming that’s down to the tinosorb m content. being as i am very fair-skinned, it seems like it’d be a good option for me! fairly affordable at most online retailers, too.

@@cunty I have the vitamin sleeping mask and I really like it! It's rich and pretty light-weight, basically feels like the daily cream. If you have really dry skin it's probably not rich enough, but otherwise it's good :) (sorry if I made any typos or anything, English is not my native language lol)

I just emptied their centella gel cream. It was quite moisturizing for my combo skin. A little thicker than I expected too but doesn't feel heavy on my skin. "Gel cream" can sometimes be a wild term in kbeauty.

I have combo skin too and live in a hot & humid country. Tried the centella gel cream & skin1004's centella soothing cream. Was disappointed both times - they felt like straight up gel to me.

I love all their serums except Noni, maybe I don't like milky serum. The tea tree toner is the only toner I have tried a few times before giving it to my husband because I have too many and he likes watery toners. Actually, I keep backups of their black snail & Beta Glucan serums because I like their texture, I could multi-layer whenever my skin feels dehydrated. They are plain vanilla serums, the kind of serums that some skincare mishap had to happen for me to appreciate their benefits. I have their propolis sleeping mask for a long time too but yet to get to it....and I am not very keen with their Beta Glucan cream which smell of silicone.😅 I guess I am pretty much done with the brand once I am done with the 3 spare bottles in my stash.

As for milky serums, I think I’m also a bit more picky with them. They can certainly have a place, but I do seem to gravitate a bit more to the faster absorbing gel type 🤷‍♀️

I REALLY wish I could figure out what caused me to break out in a massive rash all over my hands! I’m a machinist and I do come in contact with chemicals which I wear gloves for, but it has been FOREVER since I had such a bad rash I bruised! Back to completely fragrance free even on the weekends 😢

I like iUnik. Their prices are great, but I'm currently trying the propolis sleeping mask and tbh, it is not that hydrating and absorbs quickly leaving my face kinda dry still. For something called a sleeping mask I was expecting a little bit more moisture. The Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum on the other hand, my skin loves.

I’m here because I thought they changed their formula. I just bought another bottle of Black Snail Restore Serum, It was from the same shop where I ordered before so I knew it was authentic, but the consistency has became more runny and not sticky unlike before, It doesn’t leave my skin as moisturized as before as well 😢

I like their propolis sleeping mask better than CosRX version, and the Beta Glucan moisturizer was nice though not a rebuy. I got the Noni Oil Serum in the 2022 Yes Style box and have not figured out what to do with it.

@@AliceintheRabbitHole I’d say it’s your typical KB sunscreen. Very lightweight, super spreadable, moisturizing, but in no way greasy, or sticky. No white cast. And it works on top of other moisturizers, or on it’s own. It surprised me, how nice it is. I wish I could throw it your way to try 🤣 Lots of love !!! 💕

I haven't used much from this brand, the only thing I used was the Propolis serum on my mission to try all the best/popular KB Propolis products, as I love propolis and also cica so am always hunting for these. The iUnik propolis was ok, I liked it more than the BoJ one, but Skinfood has by my favourite propolis serum for sure. I do want to try the iUnik propolis sleeping mask to compare to the cosrx one which is another fave of mine.

Personally, IUNIK tea tree serum worked really well on my acne prone skin. It did help with my acnes and calmed my skin. I used up 2 bottles of them. Just that i moved on from the product after i started using adapalene. I dont see the point of keep repurchasing the tea tree serum when adapalene can do the same thing and more. And I also found out that my skin LOVES panthenol. Instantly soothes my skin. Panthenol and adapalene? Top tier 😄

I see we share many commonalities in our preferences! 😆 and yeah I think one of the most difficult aspects of talking about products is: the ones you like, but for whatever reason just kind of fall off in usage. Some of that is for SURE repetitiveness in the routine. I guess it’s just that there are far more “good” options on the market than we can fit in a realistic routine!

I have been using Iunik for three months after spending hundreds on different creams for my rosacea. Love the cream and I do see a positive result on the daily redness. My concern is that bruises seem to show more - like if my glasses bump my nose, there is a mark left. I have a red mark on my check where it was lightly scratched with a twig. Does Iunik make your skin thinner, where the blood vessels would be closer to the skin? While I love the cream, I a very concerned about this.

I was always tempted to buy the beta-glucan serum, but on one occasion I bought the propolis one and I was not impressed with the results, in fact I did not know that it had essential oils and I did not have any allergic reaction??? omg off topic but I HIGHLY recommend The Skin fix Eczema dermatitis face balm. Im pissed it comes in such a small container but holy! 5% colloidal oatmeal. its my new favorite "Vaseline" my skin is super sensitive

The propolis serum is my fav, shame it didn't work out for you! It got me hooked on propolis, but 100% agree it could do without the bergamot oil (though luckily my skin doesn't seem to mind it). Really wanna try the beta glucan serum and their sunscreen, so many people rave about them both :) Overall the brand really has some gem products but could probs do w some sensitive skin focused reformulations!

I wish the Centella gel didn't have essential oil. I had no idea it was one of the ingredients until i woke up with full blown folliculitis on my face. I looked a hot mess. And my face still never recovered completely

I really like their oil cleanser, it's my favourite. But I wasn't a fan of the rest of their products I tried. Moisturizers are too silicony (and gel cream has also fragrance) and beta glucan serum irritated my skin.

i love the way the propolis sleeping mask made my dry skin feel the next morning, but after using it several times, i think i started getting zits from it. the zits wouldn’t pop up immediately the next day but around the 36-48 hr mark instead. i’m still not 100% sure if it’s just that sleeping mask or the combination of using it with the boj cleansing oil which contains soybean oil. some people have said that it’s due to the caprylic/capric triglycerides in it. either way, it’s disappointing because i really like the way it feels and most of the ingredient list.

Great reviews...I keep reading how great the Beta Glucan serum is for moisture. I know with Hyaluronic Acid you should put moisturizer on top or else it can actually dry out your skin in time....Is it the same thing with Beta Glucan?...does it look for and grab onto water wherever it has to find it, or does this serum have the moisture in it and you could use as a stand alone if you wanted without any long term drying effects?

I absolutely think it has the moisture in it. It doesn’t feel drying at all (and if the moisture is in it, that explains the supposed high levels of beta glucan!)

I'm surprised you didn't mention that 40% beta glucan is *still* an extremely unlikely level to have in a product! beta glucan is a type of soluble fiber.. Western ingedient lists give it as the fourth or fifth ingredient in this product. I'm more understanding of "concentration-washing" when it comes to extracts because how do you explain what the concentration of e.g. centella is anyways.. but this really feels like misinforming consumers!!

I do agree. I feel like they kind of gave it away by switching from 98% to 40% - neither level makes sense, but 98% was so blatantly inaccurate (I think to most people? Perhaps)

I really like to have essential oils and natural fragrance in my skincare products and they are getting hard to find. Don't y'all have enough fragrance and essential oil free products? Please don't take the remaining products and have them reformulated without these things by complaining. The % of the population that is sensitive is far less than those of us who are not. I would have liked to hear about the synergy serum. Does it absorb well? Looks good.

My take is: I think it should be made more clear as to which products are scented vs not. For example the way elf does it is perfection! The grey area is difficult for both reactive skin and those who prefer fragrance - we never know what we’re getting!

To me their serums and toners have never interested me. Their moisturizers though do seem very nice and affordable, as well as their centella sunscreen. I'd say the sunscreen is getting slept on. Sarah from nobsbeauty tried it and loved how lightweight it was.

It would be nice to see products that aren't K beauty. I think there's a lot of brands that get so hyped up that naturally people buy them. But after some time has passed maybe people see their not that great. Recently I'm starting to notice with k beauty products, the ingredient lists keep getting longer and longer. I'll see a long ingredient list but not many stand out ingredients and those stand out ingredients are at the bottom of the list. I know it can be tricky but it would be nice to see some non k beauty products that doesn't have fragrance, denatured alcohol, essential oils. Besides my HG k beauty products, Paula's Choice is hands down my favorite skincare brand. I'm a vip customer so I always have 20% plus free shipping. It's the only brand that I don't have to worry about **cking my skin up lol I have to say I always look forward to your videos, I'm always curious what look you'll be doing next ❤ Not sure what the term is but to me you got that 1940's vibe. I tried the tea tree toner, broke me out HORRIBLY (probably a tea trea thing), the centella spf was fine but stung me so bad the first 10min of wearing it ... I feel like their low prices are reflected in their skincare, its fine but mehh

Can you use chamomile oil? I can’t remember which video I did that contained chamomile products, but I was shocked by how many folks in the comments section couldn’t use that ingredient!

@@AliceintheRabbitHole I currently use a micellar water with chamomile extract and plant water so I don't think thats it, it was probably tea tree itself
