I have hyperPOTS and my BP spikes so badly when I get dehydrated. I hit the other end, where it gets dangerous. People need to understand that you can get it from the common cold and the spike in the illness that shall not be named, I saw a HUGE spike in the support groups. I think I’ve had POTS most of my life because I was ALWAYS heat intolerant. Always thirsty. I took one look at you and said to myself, she has POTS because of EDS. 😊I have type 3 myself and I’m also an ambulatory wc user too. I will say, Porto Mobility has a wonderful electric chair that folds up on its own with a remote. It’s a life saver. I don’t have to have SI dislocation to fold it up traveling. It’s travel and airline friendly. They have payment options.

I didn’t know that about the primary care needing to do that, thank you. I’m hEds, POTS, MCAS as well and props to you for being able to advocate so well for yourself at such a young age. I got sick at 29 and I’m only just learning how to be aggressive with doctors to get what I need.

Omg. If only I’d seen this a year ago, you answered so many of my questions! I’m in the same boat, what with the fun cluster (hEDS, POTS, MCAS, Gastroparesis). Are you on lactated ringers or saline? My cardiologist has me on LR, two bags a day via gravity drip (how did you get a pump?). Are you getting any of your meds IV now instead or orally? My immunologist helped me switch to IV Famotidine and IV diphenhydramine

I got diagnosed recently. They didn't do tilt table test or poor man test. They did vitals my hr and blood pressure was really high, they did an EKG also showed tychardia , did a heart scan same thing. They made me lay down for a few minutes and quickly stand up I got dizzy and my heart started to go fast. They made me sit down and confirmed that I have pots.

The tilt table test was very exhausting for me. I was told that I would feel OK after it but I could barely drive home and I slept for two days.

My neurologist said to not take more salt because I have high blood pressure. You said you have high blood pressure too, do you tolerate salt ok?

Doing the Naval lean test instead of the tilt table test, Bateman Horne Medical Clinic takes blood pressure and pulse every couple of minutes. What is observable is that when standing there is usually a dramatic drop in blood pressure at around 2-3 minutes, along with the increase in pulse.
