You definitely need a brake regulator. Install one alongside the hydraulic handbrake and you will improve the brakes by much because you can adjust the brake bias between front and back. That's how i have done it in my 2105.Good job with the LADA guys!

I can offer a more balanced configuration, which is used in Russia. If you are want to improve braking and save balance, you must use other brake rotors and calipers. At front axle you can install brake calipers and rotors from Lada 2112, at rear - TRW/Lucas rear calipers (Skoda Octavia, Passat B5, Alfa Romeo 156, etc) and Lada 2108 rotors. All blueprints of transition plates are available at open access. Good luck :)

so if i get all the rear brake parts from a passat b5 it would fit on my lada 2106 stock rear axle without any problem? i'm searching for some low budget junkyard solutions because i don't have a lot of money to spend on getting my lada properly set up for driving 80% of the time sideways ^^

nice, I thinked about that kit too. basically it is a samara front brake. But you will have problems on slippery road, the rear brakes are too strong now, you will need a brake regulator. Are you gonna screw in a hydraulic hand brake?

I don't know about appearing Canada but don't you have to have a parking brake/ emergency break by law?
