WARNING: To remove Shield screws, please use PH3 size of the bit. It's a philips bit with cut off point that can be found in most screws bit sets. If you damaged the screw already, you can cut into it with a grinder making cut in on the middle to use flat screwdriver so you can turn it. New screws can be found at your local dealership, they always have them in stock for about $2 a peace. Oil filter is the same filter that goes on 1.5L and 2.0L engines. Oil type is 0W- 20 (fully synthetic only) Oil Capacity: 1.5L - 3.7 Quarts 2.0L - 4.2 Quarts

Thank you. I just changed my oil using your video. For the 2nd time. I changed at 2000 miles and now at 6000 miles. I didn't reset, so my next one will be free at the dealer. Mine is currently at 50%. Hopefully, I can take advantage of the free service at 10000 miles. I should do a tire rotation now, too. Thanks again.

Never click your torque wrench more than once. This is a practice learned from Honda factory rep. You are always supposed to change the crush washer. It helps to seal when the plug is properly torqued

My comment would be if you don't reset the oil % when you change the oil, can you wait till it's at say 15% can you have the dealer do every other oil change because they in California offering 2 years 24000 miles of free oil changes. So you can get at least every other oil change for free?

I had the same issue with the screw on my 2024 accord hybrid! I did my first oil change at 850 miles getting ready to do my second at 3500 miles. The third will be a free one at 7500 by the dealer. After that I will do an oil change every 5000 miles. You need to get all the initial wear metal out of the engine!!

I was told by Honda not to change the FIRST engine oil too early. The special engine oil from the factory is designed to lube and coat the engine and it is best to remain in the engine until the first manufacturer recommended oil change schedule. After the first oil change, you can change the engine oil early if you want. Prematurely doing the FIRST engine oil change will shorten the engine life.
@IvanRossS

@blackdan0259

you was told? Well, then you should think and make your own decision whether you want to do so or not! As for me, all of my Honda and Toyota break in oil will get changed at 1000-1500 miles. Never, aside the one who got a turbo, has any problem. I sold the one with Turbo, you know what brand! The rest made it to 200k miles, so you decide yourself, what you got told is just a told!
@mccalejk2
@mccalejk2 Жыл бұрын
You were told by Honda or a Honda dealership? I sincerely doubt either one of them knows what they are talking about. There is a Toyota guy on YT that rips an engine apart and shows you what happens to an engine if you listen to the manufactures maintenance schedule. They want you to trash your engine outside of the warranty. I changed my oil the day I bought it.
@TYPICALTRYHARD_
@TYPICALTRYHARD_ Жыл бұрын
@@mccalejk2 general rule if the manufacturer says 10k miles they are bs you change it every 5k miles or slightly lower. I wouldn't change the oil in a new car immediately since the oil that comes from factory does help with break in. I think everyone knows you should baby your engine during the first 5k miles to help break it in so no harsh acceleration and such.
