This is the PERFECT song for him + the editing has exactly the right pace. I am addicted to Ivar since it first appeared on screen, it's like he devoured all the other brothers (even Bjorn) and became a main character right alongside Ragnar, Floki, Athelstan, Lagertha and Rollo. He has the best balance of continuous rage and deep pain; of violence about to burst out, and a sudden, loving innocence when someone finds anything remotely "good" about him. KUDOS to the Vikings producers, the script writers and the wonderful actor (who has such control of his emotions and facial expressions) they chose to play this part. Legendary character!

There's a lot of historical accuracy about his life, he did lose both parents and he had osteogensis imperfecta which is brittle bones disease before it was known what was and so he had to crawl around on his knuckles a lot as a child and as an adult, or had to bed carried on someones back due to orthopedic leg braces not yet being invented which had to drive him insane on top of losing both parents then he killed his brother for taunting him, they portrayed his character flawlessly in this tv series. He had very demonic in character with many reasons to be but fear was an attribute he didn't have.

Is it odd that sometimes I wonder how different he would have been, had he been Lagertha's son? Cause I don't think for a moment she would have permitted Ragnar to try to leave Ivar to the wolves, and I think from day one she would have been tough on Ivar, and would have had the attitude Ragnar eventually came to have about Ivar's legs. She would have made Ivar try to compete with the other children, if they climbed a tree than Ivar would climb, if the other children rode horses then Ivar would need to figure out how to ride. Heck, I could see her going to Floki and being like, "We have to devise a saddle that holds Ivar to a horse so he can ride and fight beside his brothers and his parents." He still would have been a genius and probably still ruthless, but he would likely have been a little more balanced and less unstable, not to mention harder to mess with his head because he wouldn't have had such insecurities - cause his mom was way too soft on him, which didn't do him any favors.
