IVE 아이브 '해야 (HEYA)' and 'Accendio' MV REACTION

The way I was not expecting them to come swinging so hard this comeback?! I genuinely did not expect them to be so remarkable this era and I sorry if it sounds like I’m getting ahead of myself but this looks to me like their strongest statement as of yet. This two MV, concept, songs feel the most complete and full to me! I love how there is a story telling aspect to both MV, for Heya it’s as if you’re flipping through a traditional tale book and for Accendio it feels like watching an anime episode. Both are so entertaining and so immersive which makes me want to say that these are also their best pieces yet! Honestly when I watched these two MV, I really got this feeling of “this is a kpop MV”, I’m saying this because of the originality and the uniqueness of it all, it stands out! But not just visual wise, like I said above, it feels to me like this is IVE at their strongest, level 100 you know! I’m actually really surprised in seeing the huge gap between this comeback and the one before. They came back strong and I am here for it! This was bold and I absolutely loved it!

해야 (Haeya) means "Sun" or "(calling) sun!" HEYA is based on an original folktale IVE created. "a tiger who loves the sun" tells the story of a tiger who is off on a search for the sun, who is hidden in the darkness, metaphorized by IVE in the opening of the song yujin was holding a pipe and there's a smoke coming out of rei's mouth... in Korean folk tales instead of “once upon a time” they’d sometimes use “back when tigers used to smoke” ** the idea came from a Korean folktale titled "해와 달이 된 오누이/sun&moon siblings" ©divintoive/bunnynyeong/ancho____ Accendio seems like a cartoon fairytale. it's actually so fun to watch and so unserious 😭😭😭 gaeul hides the wand in the fridge ajdhfjkl

I can totally understand what you're saying. In fact, over the past few years, K-pop has lost a lot of its K-pop flavor. In order to break into the international market, the music or MVs have become very westernized (nothing bad, just feeling it's a pity). But IVE's this comeback really made me rediscover the K-pop feel and I love it sm!

I started to like 'Heya' a lot more after a few times listening to it and I really enjoyed the MV but I was expecting something else until I finally found it when 'Accendio' dropped. I love IVE’s concepts and discography. They are really diverse in terms of their music and concepts and I feel like they do so well in the magical girls/cupids themes. Accendio is one of my top songs within IVE (Along with Satisfaction, Love Dive, Off the Record). I just love their light but dark undertone music having that magic essence. After Blackpink, IVE became my second favorite girl group (my fav of the 4th gen).

I'm Italian and I can tell you that accendio is not an actual italian word lol. It just resembles accendere which means to turn on smth and Incendio which means arson. The closest word is actually accendiNo which means lighter :)

The battle for the wand and those of good win, as it spent two minutes of noon, the wand disappears and goes to another destination, since they lost the deadline of protecting, so the wand found a new place randomly, and how how A pure and innocent little girl and was the first to get stuck in her, the wand loses power, because it is impossible for the child to understand what is except a toy. This is one of my favorite MVs. Gauel, being the main character, is simply perfect and the plot, editing, clothing and makeup are simply fabulous and elegant. I think Accendio is meant to be Latin, therefore means kindling/setting on fire. I bet it became "turn on" in Italian because you turn on lights aka candles/lamps and the word stuck around after electricity.
