Altered Glass Bottle Decor | Decoupage | DIY No Need To Cry
I altered this glass bottle and turned it into a piece of art! I love how this came out! Using the decoupage technique. I will be placing these on top of my kitchen cabinets when they are all done. 1.)Empty wine bottle
2.) Apple Barrel 4oz White Acrylic Paint
3.) Apple Barrel 4oz Black Acrylic Paint
4.) Tulip Glitter Dimensional Fabric Paint Diamond
5.) Rhinestones BEAD LANDING™ ACRYLIC GEMS, ROUND, SMALL
6.) Round Sponge/Foam Brushes-

9.) Mod Podge Glue ( I used the gloss one)

11.) Dish Soap

13.) Stationary Knife
14.) 3 cups of water (One for paint, One for Glue brush, and one clean water for separating the tissue as well as roughing up the edges)

Hi, my name is Ivelisse. I've been artistic and creative my whole life. Unfortunately, it wasn't an easy one. I'm a survivor of many trials and tribulations. It caused me to develop serious mental health issues. I was self-medicating by using drugs and alcohol for over twenty years. On August 1st, 2014, I threw myself at the mercy of the Lord and prayed to God to save me. I asked God to forgive me for all my sins, and I forgave everyone who ever hurt me. I've been sober and clean ever since. Glory be to God! Beautiful bottle and GREAT video! I do have a couple of questions? What are you using in the video to hold the cork while your applying the gems? What are you using to apply the small gems on the bottle? Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.

Thank you! I shoved the cork on the top of a pouncer brush (the bigger one with the thick handle). For the rhinestones, I use the other end of the brush I put the glue on with. I lightly dip it into Mod Podge, let it dry until it gets tacky and then use it to stick them. :)

Aww thank you and yes I did. :) I use Mod Podge for all my rhinestone gluing except for really big rhinestones... then I use a hot glue gun.

Ivelisse a tip for you to help remove the labels once wet, I use a credit card that I no longer use is a very smooth way to remove them, I also use them to scrape my pots and pans:) try it

Do you have any ideas for decorating bottles and/or vases so that they are still somewhat transparent or semi-transparent. I put fairy lights in bottles, jars & vases & need some ideas for decorating them so that the light still shines through. PS: Love your videos

Hello Stacy, you can decoupage napkins on a bottle without using the white base coat. What this does is create a see trough effect. You have to cut the designs out exactly though. I'm in the process of unpacking as I just moved, AGAIN lol, so when I'm all setup again, i'll see about making a video for you. Thanks hun :)

If you do it on a black bottle you would have to use something other than a paper napkin to decorate with because it won't show with the black base.

How did you get the design to line up and match so well? Overlaying the tissue design?

I didn't do anything special, I just did it randomly and because the design is so light, it works but I have found an easier way to do this. If you check out this video you'll see I place the napkin around the bottle instead of piece by piece. kzbin.info?o=U&video_id=UwYMcY1ShM8

love it! Quick question.. i see you are putting modge podge in places where you want the gems.. how are you picking up the gems on tip of paint brush.. .do you have wax or glue on edge?

Yes, I put a tiny bit of Mod Podge or clear nail polish on the brush and that's how I pick them up. If you use the Mod Podge wait a few seconds and let it get tacky before picking them up. 💕🤗

What do you do with your bottles after you decoupage them like do you put flowers in on or just leave them like that and put them around your house or and also could you use just a dab hot glue to put the rhinestones on the bottles or will that affect the paint? And you're a great teacher... :-)

Hello, Melissa, I give some away, use some as vases with fake flowers and the rest are up on a shelf. My decorated bottles collection. Yes, you could use hot glue to stick the rhinestones and thank you! :)
