Interesting project! And since you asked: I would leave the pantograph off. To be honest I think it looks better without it. Certainly when you leave the body as it is. It is more 'original Ives'. It looks great as it is. Clever solution with the chassis / motor mounted. If you did not mentioned it, I did not notice the wheels. It is hardly noticable so no need to move it I would say.
