Wow..what a great blast from my past. Maybe the sceptics who thought we were a bit light-weight at the time of our early recording career will think otherwise. We always went over well on the college and uni' gigs we did. A pity that there are no pictures of the other contributors on this gig - at least my bass head-stock is in there !! Well there you HEAR it....PETE HAM...a great blues guitar player..... and just think about this....back then many guys played guitar in this bluesy - rock manner...BUT WHO OF THEM CAN ALSO GO ON TO WRITE SUCH SONGS AS HE DID....Pete Ham....wrote "Baby blue"....."No matter what"....."Without you".....can you name any other hard rock blues guitar man that can ALSO write a melody...?...the answer is NO....there were never any others that could do it all

Hearing them cover this Freddie King classic got me thinking...perhaps there's a recording somewhere of the Iveys performing the Otis Rush tune "All Your Love (I Miss Loving)?" I'd certainly love to hear Pete Ham playing some other blues classics and especially after hearing this performance!

Pete Was a genious, Badfinger were and always will be one of greatest bands ever. I wish I could have met Pete Ham, I wish someone could have seen the pain he was tormented with and prevented him from taken his own life. RIP Pete

@albertevindberg If anyone said it, it was probably Kathie Molland, who once claimed she TAUGHT Pete to finger-pick and that Joey was as good a guitarist as Pete. Pete Ham was playing in bands since 1960 and they covered R&B and blues a lot. This is amazing!!!!!!!

Lordy!! That was a mighty tasty slice of Ham!!! The first act I ever saw in concert was Badfinger! My dad drove me to San Antonio and sat in the car while I was at the show (I wasn't old enough to drive yet). They've been a big part of my life.

@mrronivey Ron Ivey - Mr. Griffiths. Man, you guys sound like Cream in their prime, I know your albums show a lot of variety, but I sure wish this meatier side had been captured more. Cool video, neat how it looks like an old film clip using just one photo.

Who's list is this ? Henry Vestine is missing as is Jerry Miller of Moby Grape , John Cipollina, Paul Kossoff (check out his early blues band Black Cat Bone) Snooks Eaglin, Robert Ward, Mick Ronson (check out his early band the Rats). Very happy to see Earl Hooker , he's my main man.

Amazing. I wish the Iveys and early Badfinger had recorded more of this kind of music. The Iveys song "I've Been Waiting" was a great song that typified the era. But the album, and many of the Iveys and Badfinger's early songs were too lightweight for their time.

Great pop band AND they could play heavy when they felt like it. Glad Ron Grffiths (GREAT singer) is still with is even if the others sadly aren't.

Pete was a great guitarist - the best ever in bandfinger, no doubt - but it was his songs that set him apart.
