Personally preferred her older songs. With the early 20th century inspired jazz swing that were more upbeat and fast tempo. The music videos were more visually impressive, too.

All younger artists go through this transition...wrestling with the decision to either keep appealing to the old fans, with sound that represented who they used to be, or go forward with who they are now. Struggling with this is probably why her latest album was called 'fucc it'. There's always going to be the people complaining that they want the artist to stay who they were. That's not how art or expression works. Just support artists and don't try to control the art. That's the difference between a fan and a consumer.
