I really appreciate all the videos, I just got an I walk and am putting it to use tonight around the house. THe pad suggestion is very helpful.

Agnes - This is great! Thank you so much. Shows so many practical details better than the iWalk website! I am having surgery for my ATR tomorrow and I think this is the right solution for me. P.S. - Love how quickly you emptied the dishwasher :)

IWalk was really a life saver for me. Takes a bit getting used to initially, but then it is really helpful. Good luck with your surgery and recovery!!!

thanks for sharing. it's a great product. My only thing is that I still have a hard cast and it's not easy for the knee. Can't wait to switching to boot at week 3.

Thanks so much for your great videos, I’m 3 days into week one and still getting over the shock of this awful injury, I have just bought an Iwalk 2.0 as I’m struggling using the crutches - all the best with your recovery, Many Thanks 🙏

@@wxmndan717 Hi Daniel, Thanks for your message- I’m so sorry to hear about your rupture, it’s the most awful injury but I really want to tell you that I’m living proof that it can heal and you will be back to normal again. In the end I wasn’t offered surgery and the tendon ends were thankfully close enough to to go the non op route. I took collagen tablets every day, used magnesium spray for the swelling. I was also on an early weight bearing protocol. I actually didn’t use the I walk very much as where I was staying at the time had very steep stairs, I do think it’s a brilliant invention though - I started walking again on crutches around a shopping mall as it provided a nice even surface with no surprises! I wish you all the best with your recovery, cheers!

I am so happy to find this I'm having foot surgery and I was told I have to stay off my foot for a year and I'm very independent person don't like to be held back from Anythink even though I got a little scooter to rest my leg on it I'm going to give this a try 2 weeks after my surgery it looks like we'll give me a lot of freedom and that's something I don't want to lose want to be more independent thank you for this design hope it works out for me it's looking good

Thanks for the review! Going down the stairs backwards makes more sense! I never would have thought of that. I am recovering from foot surgery and trying to use the iwalk. The scooter is terrible! Painful on my entire leg & has a huge turning circle. Encouraged watching your video, that this will work for me!
@agnes76atr
@agnes76atr 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, crazy how much easier is to tackle the stairs with iWalk rather than crutches. Make sure to hold on to the rail though! However useful scooter is, there are so many accidents I read about it (people tripping over and falling). I even witnessed one at my PT clinic... Scary. Good luck with getting used to the iWalk and with your recovery!

we are going camping to a music festival and i broke my ankle and hurt some ligaments that are gonna take a while, do you recommend this or a knee scooter? do you find the i walk tires you out after a certain time? it not being the perfect height i feel would make your good sides hip hurt? great video BTW thank you for this review

great clip ! i also have an iwalk and totally LOVE IT ! its allowed me to be so independant and do just about everything i could do before the injury. have been using it 5 weeks, also achilles rupture, but i had surgery. have just yesterday had my cast removed and now in same moonboot as you above. the iwalk has been a godsend. lots of people have stopped me to suggest the scooter, of which i have but i don't use it, mainly just use the iwalker and sometimes my crutches. i too mowed the lawns the other day in the iwalk ! how many more weeks after this did you need the i walker for ?
@agnes76atr
@agnes76atr 8 жыл бұрын
Jane C - I am glad there is someone else there that mowed the lawn on iWalk, haha. Yes iwalk definitely provides lots of independence, as you found out yourself. I was using it until I started FWB in the boot at about week 7. When I was PWB I still would use it to do things faster or when my leg was tired. Good luck with your recovery and enjoy your improvements as you progress in the boot and then shoes!

Sorry about your rupture. Yep, crutches can be a pain, that's for sure. You can add some crutches covers to them. I have a pic of the ones I added to my crutches. They made a lot of difference for me. Good luck with your recovery!

Oh, sorry, was supposed to include a link in my previous comment: achillesblog.com/agnesatr/atr-equipment/ That's where the pic of padding I used for the crutches is. Good luck with the iWalk. Just take your time to adjust it well based on the videos on their website. That will make balancing on it easier.

I can't see this working for my torn acl and sprained mcl because I can't bend the knee nor put weight on it. Sigh... wish I could work but I wouldn't even waste my time thinking it could. Not for my injury but this is good to kno for recommending it to someone else

How do you adjust the device for longer legs and get the straps connected? The instructions provided with the device are not very good.

What did you do to be in the boot and did you enjoy using the I walk 2.0 and how long did you have it for
@agnes76atr
@agnes76atr 7 жыл бұрын
I ruptured my achilles tendon. Used iWalk 2.0 for about 10 weeks (6 weeks used it a LOT being non weight bearing on injured leg and in later weeks used it less frequently). I loved it as you can use both hands as opposed to crutches or scooter plus stairs are easy with it.

Does your knee of the uninjured leg ever ache or is that a natural motion?, I can't tell
@agnes76atr
@agnes76atr 7 жыл бұрын
I never had any pain in my uninjured leg while using iWalk. The motion becomes pretty natural once you get used to the crutch. The important thing is to adjust the iWalk angle and height well to your body type/leg angle by following iWalk website videos. I did need some extra padding for the injured leg though.

If you are not using the boot for walking you should be in a traditional plaster cast. The boot is made for gradual weight bearing.
@agnes76atr
@agnes76atr 7 жыл бұрын
That is actually incorrect. Many people are being put in the boots these days instead of casts from the beginning of certain treatments.
