Yes, good choice. They are only available in 1.4, which can be a bit too much for the cap sometimes, but if you back the fluid off a little, it performs like the W300WB 1.2, which is superb, as I say, it's not a fast gun but it is good

Hello Pete hope all is well, I missed out on getting the W300 unfortunately because I was really eager to try it after I saw your review but it looks like these Kiwami are more than competent. Thanks for sharing your insights on how they work for you and with what settings , but just seeing your video on the W50 ,I think that might be the next gun for me especially since it’s a bit cheaper than the LPH80

Hi Roger, yes, the W50 is a great little gun and is an ideal buy for someone wanting a little bit more of everything compared to the LPH80. I've just finished a pattern video of the LPH50, in 3 tip sizes, the LPH80 in 4 tip sizes, the W50 1.3 Kiwami and the W50 in 1.2. I found it really interesting so hopefully it will help people who are unsure of what one they want, cheers mate, hope things are ok over there, cheers 👍

I appreciate your insight on the split nozzle. I've had the lph400 for 5 years now. I've been looking at the walcom geo because it appears to have the same sort of technology but I am finding limited information on it

Hi buddy, the Walcom Geo doesn't have a split nozzle, just the standard one, Iwata still have the patent for split nozzles so no-one can copy them at the moment

It sprays really well, does the seal leak like on the kiwami 4? My preference in nozzle tip is 1.4 in a spray gun. I like that the spray gun puts out a lot of material.

Hi James, not had any problems with it yet, it does spray well even with full fluid in 1.4, it's just not as fine as the 1.2, perfectly acceptable most of the time though

Hi Lee, yes, the gap has definitely closed and it doesn't come with a cup, i would still say its the one to go for although it's not as clear cut as it was, can't remember exactly what i paid but it was a lot less than it is now, the pound was 1.34 against the US dollar when i got mine

@@peteshobbies5383 Since I use PPS I actually prefer guns not to come with a cup, anyway. They just get thrown in a drawer and forgotten about - probably eventually to be thrown out when I need more drawer space and contribute to the world's plastic problem.

Hi Andrew, yes, quite a few, this is a midi gun so smaller than the Kiwami4, this is also a WB gun so has a split nozzle, in this case it's a 3 split tip, it is very similar to the Kiwami4 WB, just a bit smaller, cheers mate 👍

Hi Pete well that gun is nothing short of spectacular, it laid the basecoat really well but I think it excelled with the finish on the clearcoat as both the tank and the wing looked really flat and glassy👌👌 I'm probably stating the obvious and suspect you have tried it but you said the cap struggled with the clearcoat through the 1.4 so have you tried raising the gun pressure to try and atomise the paint a bit better🤔🤷‍♂ So it seems like my usual supplier (I think you know who I mean) won't be stocking the Kapci 6050 as they are asking to much for it and they will not make any profit from it, I don't understand Kapci's thinking behind this as my supplier sells loads of Kapci products from compounds, mini and full schemes to thinners etc so I think Kapci will regret their pricing, only place I can find the 6050 is Marlow's and it's more pricey than I expected🙄😢 I've also had news about the 6050 sample kit, it seems that the Kapci rep is no longer allowed to authorise the sending out of them so I have to fill a form in to request a 1.5L sample🤦‍♂ so I assume it goes back to Egypt to be authorised then sent out, I've filled in the online form and await their decision😁sounds like Kapci are cutting costs🤔thanks Pete and sorry for my usual ramblings and long comment🤭👍

Hi John, yes, they are really good guns, getting more expensive these days but still good, think of a scaled down WS400 and you have one of these. I have played with the pressure and wile it can make a difference it needs to be quite high and one of the benefits of these is there abilities at lower, 1.5 bar, pressure, it's part of the joy of using it i think. I did see the Kapci price, and same as you i thought it was expensive but if you wait for ebay to do a 20% coupon it will bring it down to £120 which isn't bad value, next coupon will be 10% i guess as they have just finished a 15% one, then it should be 20% again is my guess, cheers mate 👍
@JohnWD40TC02
@JohnWD40TC02 Жыл бұрын
Yeah totally agree with you on the low pressure being part of the user experience so if you have to raise it to much then you are using just another spray gun at the usual pressure. I'll keep an eye on the 6050 to see if there are any discounts but I would like to try a small kit first to see if I like it, just have to wait and see it Kapci thinks I'm worthy of a free sample😭😆😂

@peteshobbies5383

I used to use water in a pot to heat it up but that's a time consuming way, i now microwave it as it's much more convenient, however, I'm sure it's not recommended to do that so i won't recommend it but it's what i do. These day's i have a few compressors linked which equates to 180lt or 230lt if required and 28cfm if required, most of the time 90lt and 14 cfm is all i need

Yes, there is, it's 3 years old, i now have 2 of the bigger 90l compressors but i still link them the same, i do it this way rather than a more permanent link so the compressors can be used away from the workshop if needed and it takes seconds to un-couple, it works really well, link below 👍 kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5-sm4KQeaegd6s

Hi pete. I'm from Brasil and we don't have the best currency to buy expensive sprayguns. So, people here kept the old evolutionary branch for achieving the best finish possible: spraying clear very very close, about 2 to 3 fingers, and very fast. It's skill demanding but the results seems to bypass bad atomization as I believe this method relies on pushing/smashing the clear with almost no time to dry from the short distance forming small waves on the surface due high air pressure, then leaving superficial tension do its job of self leveling the material. the concept is very interesting but if you see the waves forming with naked eye you'd have a run, being fast is a no joke. I own a Walcom Slim HTE 1.3 and can reliably produce a respectable mirror finish with minor distortions, yet the "smashing" technique leaves almost no distortion at all. I'd be glad if you test this technique and share your results. thanks o/
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 Жыл бұрын
Hi Churono, that sounds interesting, i get the principle of what you are saying and understand how it can work. I should imagine the potential for getting runs is quite high, one problem i could forsee in the UK with our relatively cold climate is the probability of solvent pop which can happen if the clear is layed too heavy . We are just coming towards winter now so i will make a note of this technique and try it when we start to warm up as that will give it a better chance of success. The Walcom is a good gun so good to hear your getting excellent results with it, I do try to cover most guns from expensive to the less expensive as i do realise many cannot have for lots of reasons as many guns as i have , thanks for watching mate, much appreciated 👍

@@peteshobbies5383 thank to you for sharing your honest and detailed experiences using those tools. about the problems above, getting runs and laying too much material, temperature and also the quality/technology of the products that I can imagine are not the same. this is my report: I like to use this method doing adhesion/thin/half coats; spraying even faster so any excess will be forgiven as I'm not trying to build up material. that surely produce a nice flat bed for the next layer so 1.5 coats to go for those economical but decent jobs. Also spraying full coats on easy flat panels that will mostly catch the eye, horizontally if possible, avoiding concave faces for now until I get better. I think in the end, for me at least this is for fun and challenge, I don't know, its a joy to spray very fast and gets boring when I need to go slower. perhaps I should get a 1.4 ~ 1.5 fluid tip to play with 🔥. take care mate. I wish the best for ya.
