Hello Pete, can you please tell me the brand name and model of the regulator on the lph-50 gun? Is it the RP1 ANI? I like it because it is not bulky, and seems to do the job. I also want to ask you why you do not use Iwata regulators like IWA8130B which is quite compact. In your other videos you use Meiji digital regulator. Is there any reason you prefer digital (easy to read and adjust perhaps)?
@peteshobbies5383 Жыл бұрын
Hi buddy, the one in this video is the ANI regulator RP1, good value, and well made but quite long. I have a number of regulators, including Iwata, Sagola, Devilbiss, ANI, and Meiji. Virtually the only ones I use these days are the Meiji, that because they are quite short, not too bulky, accurate and most of all they have a diaphragm inside which really evens the pressure delivery out. I have an in-line diaphragm regulator already, but having one just before the gun seems to help with smooth air delivery. I have 3 Iwata regulators, and I don't like them. The fittings are made of toffee, so I don't use them

Thanks for the video. I picked up a LPH50 baed on this. The 130ml cup iseems a bit small. I think the slightly bigger 150 or 200ml would go better. It looks like the white cup is the 150ml size. What gun regulators are you using on these? Some of the diaphram regulators cost nearly half as much as the gun.
@peteshobbies5383 Жыл бұрын
Hi buddy, there are so many sizes of cups available for these, so you will always be able to find one to suit. I have many gauges, but these days, I use almost exclusively the Meiji MAR and MARD regulators. Yes, they cost half the price of the gun but really help to smooth the pressure delivery. A good standard regulator is the ANI one, and it is certainly better to avoid the cheaper ones that are normally rubbish with poor metals and inaccurate
@CScott-l8f Жыл бұрын
@@peteshobbies5383I saw the MARD. Looks very similar to a cheaper digital gauge, perhaps they just put their label on it? Unfortunately doesn’t seem to come in a PSI version. I generally use thinned latex Benjamin Moore paint as it will not melt XPS foam. My compressor is small (Makita MAC700 2.0 HP 3.3 CFM at 90 PSI) which according to the numbers should be sufficient for this gun. Would you be able to recommend or offer a guess as to what needle size and cap size would be best for this paint?

Hi Andrew, I have no knowledge of the paint you describe so can't say for sure, but if you planes are 70 inches long i would guess something like a 0.6 tip would be ok. I presume you thin the paint before spraying? , what are you using at the moment to spray? It may give me a better idea of tip size to recommend, you should be able to use both the E2 and E4 cap with your compressor but the E4 will be more on your limit but will give you a bigger fan, you may not want this anyway as a 0.6 E2 fan is around 50mm which would probably be enough, cheers 👍
