I've seen the LPH 50 advertised but being a novice I really don't understand why they make guns that seem so similar so I struggle to understand what their specific purpose is, but at least with your comparisons it gives an idea of where they sit as far as what application you use them for, so it just like to say I do appreciate your content , your channel has become one of my most favourite channels

Hello Pete, can you please tell me the brand name and model of the regulator on the lph-50 gun? Is it the RP1 ANI? I like it because it is not bulky, and seems to do the job. I also want to ask you why you do not use Iwata regulators like IWA8130B which is quite compact. In your other videos you use Meiji digital regulator. Is there any reason you prefer digital (easy to read and adjust perhaps)?
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 Жыл бұрын
Hi buddy, the one in this video is the ANI regulator RP1, good value, and well made but quite long. I have a number of regulators, including Iwata, Sagola, Devilbiss, ANI, and Meiji. Virtually the only ones I use these days are the Meiji, that because they are quite short, not too bulky, accurate and most of all they have a diaphragm inside which really evens the pressure delivery out. I have an in-line diaphragm regulator already, but having one just before the gun seems to help with smooth air delivery. I have 3 Iwata regulators, and I don't like them. The fittings are made of toffee, so I don't use them

Thanks for the video. I picked up a LPH50 baed on this. The 130ml cup iseems a bit small. I think the slightly bigger 150 or 200ml would go better. It looks like the white cup is the 150ml size. What gun regulators are you using on these? Some of the diaphram regulators cost nearly half as much as the gun.
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 Жыл бұрын
Hi buddy, there are so many sizes of cups available for these, so you will always be able to find one to suit. I have many gauges, but these days, I use almost exclusively the Meiji MAR and MARD regulators. Yes, they cost half the price of the gun but really help to smooth the pressure delivery. A good standard regulator is the ANI one, and it is certainly better to avoid the cheaper ones that are normally rubbish with poor metals and inaccurate
@CScott-l8f
@CScott-l8f Жыл бұрын
@@peteshobbies5383I saw the MARD. Looks very similar to a cheaper digital gauge, perhaps they just put their label on it? Unfortunately doesn’t seem to come in a PSI version. Most people here use the Iwata diaphragm gun regulator with the blue knob but it is quite large compared to the size of the LPH guns. My next gun will likely be the Kiwami mini with the side cup. I do motorcycle stuff also and prefer not having the top cup in the way.

I generally use thinned latex Benjamin Moore paint as it will not melt XPS foam. My compressor is small (Makita MAC700 2.0 HP 3.3 CFM at 90 PSI) which according to the numbers should be sufficient for this gun. Hi Andrew, I have no knowledge of the paint you describe so can't say for sure, but if you planes are 70 inches long i would guess something like a 0.6 tip would be ok. I presume you thin the paint before spraying? , what are you using at the moment to spray? It may give me a better idea of tip size to recommend, you should be able to use both the E2 and E4 cap with your compressor but the E4 will be more on your limit but will give you a bigger fan, you may not want this anyway as a 0.6 E2 fan is around 50mm which would probably be enough, cheers 👍

Nice videos 👍 Carpenter and more often than I can mention I get to paint in trims and windows 😂. Good that I left the painting trade 32 years back, so I still have the skills with a painting brush. Would these guns work waterbased woodpaint? Masking in we do anyhow, so cut down on effort with a gun is a blessing for my knees and lower back. Ain't getting any younger 😂.

Hi Christer, it would depend on the viscosity of the paint but i can't see it being a problem, only problem is if the paint needs thinning too much it loses it coverage and if you go to a bigger tip you lose some control for smaller areas

Thanks for answer. 1.3 tip gives bit wide fan for floor trims, tilt the angle on the head could be an idea.... And to filter the paint is a must. Been scanning for a lvlp gun for a while now. Have 2 guns in mind so far, compressor I found the la Padana PS 16. As usual it will be costly 😂, in the end its about 600 pounds (ish)

@@christerlundgren3805 That's a low noise compressor which have a fairly low output to cost but of course are very quiet. The LPH80 uses very little air so you wouldn't need a huge output, the fan is also relatively small which sounds like it would be suitable for what you do providing you can thin the paint down
