What a great surprise to see you cover one of my favourite collections! I spent this year obsessing over everything from the 3505 to 3521. My favourite is the 3506 - I love the Ingenieur logo on the dial and it's a shame they replaced it with 3 lines of uppercase on the 3508 and 3521. Funnily enough I ended up with a Yacht Club II jumbo quartz. I found it a strange design at first, but loved it the more I looked at it. It's absolutely timeless, full of curves and a mix of circular brushing and polishing to add depth to surfaces. In contrast, I find the 2nd gen ingenieur a bit dated, albeit in a charming industrial way. The price of the old Ingenieurs has shot up to the levels of a secondhand 3289, which I think is the best rendition yet, so I'm not sure I'll ever end up buying the older models. I hope you'll cover the other watches Genta designed for IWC: Yacht Club II and Golf Club. People scream Genta yet sleep on the brand which has the most of them.

I like the watch I got from MAMACOO. That rubber strap combo looks really cool! Been wearing it since last year and love every minute of it.

@@GoldammerVintageWatches Do you know how many 3521 were produced? I own a white dial so was keen to get a sense of the production numbers.

The sad thing is that IWC did learn asolutely nothing from their previous pricing mistakes. The current models are also way overpriced. Big bummer. They lost a big opportunity here and I dont't think they will have another chance like this as the Ingeneur is one of their most iconic models. Anyhow, thanks for the reference guide. Great video.

If IWC is overpriced what should we think of Rolex , Patek Philippe , Vacheron , RM and co .

Especially RM 😅😅

It's called the Genta tax. The GP Laureato costs around the same but nobody is complaining about that. Nor the fact that these watches are a fraction of the Nautilus, Royal Oak and Overseas. IWC is not an entry level brand like Christopher Ward, and Genta designs command high prices nowadays. The new Ingenieur is priced based on reality.

I’m really crazy about it now. It’s such an underrated model which is one of the reasons why it makes me so curious to learn more about. I recently acquired a rare chronograph version produced between 88-92, ref.3734 with JLC movement, but found so little info about it online apart from the IWC’s 1988 catalogue. If you could and have some info about it, I would be very happy if you could share it 🙏

I think I’d pay double for it in absolute original condition, but for replaced hands, pushers, crown, or movement parts, much less. Restored dials completely ruin the value of the watch for me. I believe this might also be interesting for others, but it’s completely overlooked in the video. :/ best regards
