@@shaise ah im a fan and id give it a 50/50 personally. They certainly can beat fnatic and misfits rogue is probably beatable i dont think they do well into MAD actually. Highly volatile games actually causes g2 to throw a lot and was why IG beat them. They havent found consistent discipline and the band aid was when they get behind give things and stabilise. Against better teams that just doesnt work and they will have to actually learn when they can push for an advantage.

I think Andre's discussion about Corejj's relative level compared to top/mid laners is interesting because I think Kelsey has talked a lot about what makes players successful in NA and she's really stressed stuff like knowing how to visualize matchups and interactions rather than just trying to hone mechanics in game. Maybe that's the kind of stuff she's talking about that's easier for supports. I also remember Doublelift(?) mentioning Corejj decided to learn some leona naut hook interaction and just practice that one thing as a way to flip the matchup - maybe that's also relevant

yes true. I remember DL talk about CoreJJ going in depth on the Leona Naut matchup since those champs were always present in proplay and he wanted to find out which one was actually better. Its amazing to see such accomplished pros still grind the game to that level.

I think the issue with NA trash talk is because usually the trash talking is coming from Casters and in most cases their view points are either wrong in most ways or they just come off as a dick because the pro player will never respond.

My only hope is that Jankos + Caps stay as they are simply the most dominant mid/jgl duo in the west but Jankos will probably retire this year :/

Alphari might be the best laning toplaner in the west, but he has not been very good at transitioning his lane leads into wins by playing the map properly with tps and sidelaning. I cant really tell if this is fixed or if its just NA being an easier region..

Has nothing to do with NA. playing the map with tps and sidelaning is more to do with how well your team plays around you doing that then how well you're playing indivually. He's always been on teams where his bot lane is more of a focus then him but now that he's not it's far easier for him to transition his lead with his team playing around him more.

Jankos is fine if they dont feel the need to play through jungle since he seems to struggle if he cant impact lanes. Wonder is a major question mark and i just don't know what level he can be at. Honestly it's good in a way that LCS has low viewership because the product is just not that good but for the game overall it's terrible because NA has a huge impact in what's considered relevant and they have so much of the money too. Even if all the other regions stay steady or grow it's a big loss for the game. Just like what happened to CS GO it won't be good .

Jankos is still a top JG, he's been smurfing for a while now. He just had a few questionable games and that's it. He crushed Inspired last time they played. Wunder just seems like he can't grow leads anymore or even get them in the first place. Most of the successful teams in each region are able to play through top or have a weakside Top that gets strong enough to be a beast split pushing or team fighting. G2 just doesn't know what they want Wunder to be cause he can't really play a strategic role in game anymore.

Mikyx is definitely not have a good split. I think what people don't realize is that G2 had roster consistency for years. They've had to rework their team play / strategy, when you throw in big meta shifts and no leadership (Perkz), they are for sure going to have issues. Also, Sup really dictates ingame stragety and flow these days and Mikyx isn't rising to the occasion. Fingers crossed they limp into worlds though.

they saying that rekkles is the best team fighting ADC. Really disagree with this. He is soooo passive and never commits or engages in team fights. He has zero killer instinct. He may be a safe adc, but in a G2 setting where they want to be aggressive having an ADC that would rather run away is not ideal. Rekkles also requires so much attention from his team and resources. the team plays for him thats what he needs. This is not what G2 is set up for.

Lets be honest i think a banging show would be two opposing coaches. I.e yamato v grabs. For fbc v g2. Two hard oppositions play off coaches. Thorin mediating it and have them talk on insight on how they are gonna face off. Iwd probs could host it too or even LS as a guest. isnt bwipo one of the best toplane options for rekkles though? i mean hes someone who will intentionally draw jungle attention to him to get an advantage in bot lane. he enabled rekkles with calculated risks. gave up top advantage but could still carry. it wasnt that he brainlessly perma pushed. and not that he always played weakside to give botlane the resources. it was a mix. but always to sacrafice for it unless he really thought it was better in a specific game that he carries. (Look at the interviews with youngbuck. he explains bwipos role in fnatic back then pretty well)

There have been many times where wunder was not only lackluster, but actually horrible. Nobody wanted to see it though, since Caps just 1v9ed the game anyways. Just look at 2019 Worlds, Wunder was one of the worst toplaners at the tournament, he pretty much lost every lane every game in the tournament, and they somehow still made words finals.

I dont think Jankos does well in a jungle dominant meta. As soon as they changed jungle timers to 2:15 Jankos looked a lot better but that does mean that an entire style of play is out of reach for G2. IDK if it makes sense to change him but it is a major weakness.

When talking about replacing Wunder you talk about how he doesn’t have pressure from bot and the team doesn’t give him resources. I think you go the other way and either pair Rekkles with a more aggressive support aka get Hylissang, that bot was certified cracked and probably the best at worlds 2020. Or you go the other way, ditch Rekkles and get Upset. Jankos is probably due for a replacement and Elyoya or Razork could fill the boots. The list of players who could replace Wunder imo aren’t worth losing the pedigree of one of g2’s historically most clutch players

No one imports in EU anymore ( afcorse we have some rare ones like Hirit and Armut ) the problem is the language and culture barier, its beter for orgs to get local talent of which there is alot. Generaly asian imports dont do well in NA and EU. The only good imports from asia that did well where Impact, Ssumday, CoreJJ, Reinover, Huni Trick and RYU. Every one else either didnt last long or just got worse

Personally I think g2 has lost what made them so strong and that is inventing a new style all together. Think back to 5 man flex Pyke, yasuo, Syndra adc, diving lanes super early, faking leashes.
