Thanks for the video. Back in the 1980s I was a member of the Duxford Aviation Society that preserved many of the aircraft in your video. My role was the Vickers Viscount where i wired all the internal lights to work of a ground supply via an isolating transformer. Being a member gave me free access to the shows. 77 years old now, living in the USA.

Great video! I especially liked the one shot of the USAF 20th TFW aircraft as I was stationed at RAF Wethersfield from 1962-1964.

Love airshows! We have one here every year but I missed it this year because it was the same weekend as Wonderfest.

The yellow and black Slingsby T57M near the biplanes is identical to the one my friend and I used to own. It's a really nice aerobatics training aeroplane. Such a clean fuselage and wings it has really low drag characteristics so it glides rather well too. I once landed ours with the ailerons jammed on full left roll using the rudder to counter the roll and the elevator to steer the aircraft. That was a bum puckering moment in my life I'll tell you

Great Video Wayne .. thanks for posting this! Wonderful to see that the TSR2 prototype is now rightly under cover after spending many years outside! Loved the WW1 flying display and also the Pitts aerobatic display which brings back memories of the late Manx Kelly who was lead pilot for the Rothmans Aerobatic Team which was based at Booker (Wycombe Air Park) in the 70’s/80’s with 4 Pitts Specials. Have you been to the De Havilland Museum at Salisbury Hall near South Mimms? Or better still Brooklands near Weybridge where not only can you see the remains of the famous banked motor racing circuit but also the aircraft museum with Concorde, Wellington Bomber etc, but also The London Bus Museum which has some wonderful buses including the 2nd prototype Routemaster RM2 which has been restored with her original front .. think you would love all those museums!

@@WorldofWayneUK.. talking of which I am at Gaydon on Saturday 2/7/23 for the Bus Fest in conjunction with the Withall Transport Museum .. lots of buses will be on display (including a few you can go on short trips in) outside the Motor Museum which is worth a visit on its own! I will be coming up there aboard RML2440 .. so come and say hi if you are there Wayne or any of your followers on here!

Two of the hangers that these aircraft are stored in are the original 1917 Belfast hangers. These are extremely rare.

The SR71 was donated from the US. It may well have flown from Mildenhall this is isn’t known due to the secrecy of operations.

Great video Wayne. You didn't volunteer for thr wing walking then? That would have cooled you down.

Interesting effect on the propellers, must be caused by the frame rate of the camera.

Hey Wayne, I see that you absolutely love air shows, so do I and I was wondering if you ever heard of the EAA Airventure up in Oshkosh Wi? I absolutely love that airshow and thought it would absolutely interest you as well. Also I just thought I’d also ask you for some advice on the Optimus Prime pack 2, you see, I made a huge mistake and put the top vents on backwards and already attached the details covering the screws to fix it, I use locktite super glue and wanted to ask if you have any advice on how to safely remove those parts so I can fix the problem without damaging the model?
@WorldofWayneUK Жыл бұрын
Yep. Love airshows….when I can get to them. As for the glue. Put the part in the freezer for a few hours and then it should make the bond brittle so you should be able to seperate it
