11:46 Camera guy goes on green light, means the guy coming from the left had red light. The yild sign on the post under the traffic light is in force when the traffic lights are off (either due to damage or during the night in areas with less traffic)

Yup if I remember correctly priority goes something like: Police directing you > traffic lights > traffic signs > person coming from right side has right of way.

11:20 The yield sign is lower priority than the light and therefore only applies if the light would be inactive. The order of priority is: Police directives - Lights - Signs - ground rules of traffic (yield to traffic from right).

@@rwiersema I have never seen that included in the order of priorities, and I took 4 different licenses (that all include the basics), the last one as late as last year. I thought this was the same all over Europe but maybe it's not.

​@Smaggle84 i think he means matrix signs. Those are very much on the list. If a regular sign is saying 100 but the matrixsign is saying 70. Matrix sign has priority, pretty basic.

@@ForkRat Ah yeah, I think I know what you mean. They are usually only for things like closed lanes or adjusted speeds though, never seen one showing who got priority in a crossing.

I know too many people which do not know that white (thick) line crossing lane means stop - so basic. An additional signs are mystery for some too - my friend was complaining that on German Autobahn we need to go only 80km/h and I was like "do you know what that picture under speed limit means?" he said no. "It is valid only if road is wet" I replied and started thinking how to get out of car and use others means of transportation to get home/three countries away. I live in a city where street sign for zipping was installed (I never seen that since making drivers license) and even if it is quite common rule drivers did not zip either. Local cops where there like 2 months explaining to people how to zip (it was quite polite step from police dept.) After that period some fines were set on drivers and it is quite OK today, but some jerks still appear there time to time.

And please...learn roundabouts folks...if you're going from two lanes, straight over into one lane...you use the LEFT lane on approach. The right lane is for right only unless signed otherwise. So many of you are cutting me up and one day you'll be paying to fix my car when you hit me

@@fuhqsideways we have here in the city 3lane roundabout and I hate that those inner lanes are often empty - most of times I go out after whole circle (my next left exit when went in). As soon as it is possible I go into most inner lane and then (before exiting) step into middle lane and then into exit lane. Way too many people are using only most right lane wherever they go. Even exits are done by adding exit lane to allow two lane exit for drivers and I saw some, which simply crossed full line (street sign) to exit roundabout in right (added exit) lane in last second. In other city where 3 lane roundabout is, it was in news almost every other day (in past, now they have detour/ring road built then there is not a lo of traffic). And of course - roundabouts are easy, no stress, you can make one more circle to do what you want to do - it is not highway exit where you can spent hour for wrong decision, just several seconds for a next circle to rethink in one more time (I do it sometimes, especially when I am in foreign country and not sure where to get out of roundabout)

6:00 No, it's a case of Horrible Drivers. You have to be able to stop within the distance you can see, if you can't then you're speeding. Also, no one was using their rear fog lights.

Generally yes bu not always.... People driving behind you can't see what you see. Imagine just cruising along the highway, and all of a sudden hitting a wall of fog. People hit the brakes as they don't know what's coming and followers still don't know what could be happening. Normally you can see the fog from afar, but some places are really different. Fog banks can come and go all of a sudden. Keeping distance is a thing of course. We had the worst chain collision near where I lived back in 1996 in Belgium with +200 cars colliding and burning, +80 casualties, 10 deaths. The locals knew of this weather behaviour of all of a sudden dropping fog on the ground in the morning, but not the way it did that morning with (I think) the biggest and worst collision in the world as a consequence. It also happened on both sides of the highway, which means it was pretty unavoidable in these conditions. So not just a stupid driver not paying attention but 200 vehicles hitting a pinball machine called irratic weather behaviour.

In Portugal there is a order , 1. Is the police 2. Traffic lights 3. vertical signs (with ones from road works having priority ) 4. Road marks as many times yields and stops are painted on the road 5. the basic rules like right driver got the priority . In general the signal at traffic lights is to help traffic if in case lights go out

We can see the side indicator of the Audi, and no, it wasn't blinking... In Europe cars have side indicators, so if you are in the drivers blind spot, you'll see if he's going to change lanes. If he uses his indicators/turn signals, that is...

The back amber turn indicator was blinking tho. Is possible he has switched on the turn signal after the accident or that the side turn indicator is broken (common issue on older cars)...

Even if he had indicated, he couldn't just change lanes. Much like flashing the hazard lights doesn't give you the right to park anywhere you want; a very common misconception it would seem.

The moment that audi passed the camera car you can see the rear indicator blinking though, so I think the side one is just too dim to pick up by camera

Also, I don't think I see even a single car with the fog lights on. I would think this weather call for that and as fas as I'm aware they are required in most, if not all, of Europe.

@@The_Tactical_Taco Tells a lot about the state of driving today: In the rare case were the rear fog light would actually be helpful, no one's using it... But as soon as there's a slight sprinkle going on, you'll always have some idiots switching it on and annoy everyone else on the road with the painfully glaring light.

It might be some sort of fast food like McDonald's or something. Drive-thru does exist in Europe, they're less common compared to North America.

@@automation7295 Sure it's less than the US, but here in DK, we have drive-through banks, drive-through bakeries, drive-through pharmacies, drive-through fast food places (McD/KFC/BK/, drive-through grocery shops (pickup, where you drive through, and they drop it off in the back of your car), drive-through hardware stores, the list goes on :)

In Germany there are some rules when it comes to driving in foggy conditions: - turn on your dipped beam, since the daytime running light may not be able to sufficiently illuminate the road ahead of you; if necessary, i.e. in case of heavy fog, snowfall or heavy rain, use your front foglight - don’t use your your full beam because it may be reflected thus worsening visibility, and because it may blind oncoming traffic - in case of very thick fog, when the visibility range is 50 metres or less, turn on your rear foglight - adapt your speed to the weather condition so that you may be able to come to a full stop within your visibility range; if the visibility range is 50 metres or less, your own speed may not exceed 50 km/h. - As soon as the weather condition allows it, turn of your foglight (both front and rear) because, due to its brightness, it may blind oncoming and rear traffic.

all correct, except turning on the rear foglight isn't mandatory. You aren't breaking any rules if you keep it off even in the thickest fog. Also, front fog lamps may also be used in conjunction with limitation light only, without the low beam. This can actually improve your vision in the dark when the fog is so thick that even the low beam causes self-glare. (Of course, fog lamps only illuminate 20 metres in front of you or so, so if you do that, you must drive very slowly, maybe 30 km/h. 50 km/h is definitely too much then)

@@arthur_p_dent Using rear foglights is mandatory here in Belgium, as regulated in the comment of @ngw1976 . You can only have one foglight in the rear though, as it migh be confused with braking lights. Fog lights in front aren't however.

@@countk1 it may be mandatory in Belgium. It isn't in Germany. Not the only difference in rules. I understand that in Belgium, you can/are required to use your rear foglight when the vision is less than 100 metres due to fog, rain, or snow. In Germany, using the rear fog lamp is only allowed when visibility is 50 metres or less, and only in fog, but never in rain or snow.

@@arthur_p_dent Correct. We increased it after a very severe fog related chain collision back in 1996. We have rain and snow storms that reduce visibility to your wind screen basically. Imagine driving 35 km in 7 hours time. That is the worst I had. Should have gone on foot :D

@@countk1 I don't think Belgium has worse rain or snow storms than parts of Germany... that said, snow sometime does incapacitate all traffic and when it does, a rear fog lamp won't help a thing.

Over here (germany) the rule is normally policeman overule traffic lights which overule traffic signs which overule "right before left". Normally all regular trafic lights also have signs installed along with markings in case that there is a blackout

Usually not for blackouts but mostly because in my city in Germany for example, at night most traffic lights are turned off or just blink yellow.

11:46 When it comes to following directions and signs the priority is as follows: #1 Directed by traffic police (the very rare instances that a police officer is standing in the road waving his hands). #2 Traffic lights. #3 Signs (if the traffic lights are out and there is a sign in place like in this video). #4 Yield for right (if no signs or lights - or the light is "offline" by blinking yellow and there is no sign).

Rules are pretty clear: Duty to yield to traffic when changing lanes. Unless sign says otherwise (i.e. red and black arrows merging sign).

Yeah, that's polish driver education car. It's different solution per country, in our case it's taxi-like "L" sign so if you drive behind one, always exercise extra caution. Might be decent driver... or terrible.

At least in Germany, traffic lights come before signs. So as long as the traffic lights are working, you have to follow the traffic lights. The signs at the traffic lights are there to regulate traffic when the traffic lights are broken. So the orange/red car had green and free passage and the car coming from the left should have had red.

Not just Germany, many European countries have signs on traffic light poles, the yield sign is only enforced if the traffic lights are out or flashing amber. When traffic lights flash amber, all traffic lights (except pedestrian signals as they're turn off) flashes amber at the same time on all sides. In Europe traffic lights aren't allowed to flash red. Flashing red is only used for movable bridges, level crossings, fire stations, airports or ferry terminals

At 11:45 the yield sign is only there in case the traffic light stopps working. So the one coming from the left was in the wrong.

12:25 - _"going up to the crest of a hill"_ : yes, that would be an automatic prohibition to overtake, but also look at the lines : a continous line may not be crossed or touched, and thus a prohibition to overtake if you can't stay to the right of it while overtaking. behind that crest, the line is dashed on one side, and thus the cam may overtake, while the opposite direction (in front of the crest) has the continous side of that line towards them. btw: just as in front of such a crest, you also may not drive fast when you won't be able to stop in the range of visibility, eg in foggy conditions where the speed limit automatically is 50 km/h in germany. i also didn't see cars using their rear foglights (bright red light) that would have made them visible a lot earlier, and that should be used when visibility is below 50 meters.

Question: Wouldn't it be "half of visibil area" in that case of a crest, 'cause one couldn't see the oncomming traffic, so to ensure both cars can brake in time? Or do I mix up somesting in my vain brain? ^^

@@BR618 if oncoming traffic is on your own lane, that would be correct. but i think in this case it *_should_* be safe to assume that there will be no oncoming cars in the same lane, no cars suddenly coming from a sideroad, etc. (although as this case has shown, there always may be bad drivers) on the other hand, traffic would almost grind to a standstill if nobody would be allowed to trust anything and have to act all the time as if the worst case would be probable.

@@Anson_AKB the relativ trust in humans wasn't my question, but we all know that "Geisterfahrer" is a thing, as well as the crosses at the curves in hilly/rural regions ... "that" and "how" we drive was not my train of tought. ^^ I thought more of a deer or something form the side, along that line, you know ^^

6:15 Its mandatory to use rear fog lights, dunno if in america that feature exists in cars, but here all cars must have them, at least one in the rear left corner, even older cars have one. Thing is that most people dont even use low beams, some not even parking lights, in bad weather... thats one of the many reasons why they invented the DRL, daylight driving lights. A trick to drive in heavy fog is using only parking lights and fog lights... low beams will only dazzle in the humidity... and if its led or xenon headlights its even worse... 9:15 Opel Antara i believe... And thats a driving school car, the Skoda, those have a blue sign with an white L (license). 11:40 The yield or stop sign next to the lights its in case those are not working, it indicates right of passing in absence of the light.

11:45: usually, when there is a crossing with traffic lights and a yield or other sign, the sign is only active if the traffic light is turned off. low traffic? they turn off the traffic lights and it works like a non traffic light crossing. so, the person did not need to yield. things can get more complicated since there are tram tracks too, but only if a tram is involved. for example, in austria, trams have automaticly the right of way, no questions asked.

So to explain your confusion with signs. In entire Europe there's so-called "hierarchy of signs". First you have person authorized for signaling - that's usually policeman if they need to divert traffic. Second are traffic lights, then stationary signs and last signs and markings on road. If crossing use both lights and stationary signs, stationary signs serve as emergency alternative (or alternative when they are turned off if said lights aren't managed 24/7). So if lights are working you can safely ignore signs but they are your help when lights are off.

red triangle means stop and normally is not joined by traffic lights. Although traffic lights are primary , when they are out of commission the sign takes over.

Re insurance: (Speaking for Norwegian car insurance) - Insurance varies by car, brand and even the specific model. Insurance companies keep track of risk per make and model. I remember some 10 years ago I was getting an insurance for my Audi - and was told that that exact model was often used/stolen by criminal gangs and were prone to accidents. Thus the insurance was a bit higher. And no they were not pulling a fast one on me (my sister works for the very same insurance company). I.e. what you pay can vary wildly from model to model. Edit: Should mention - your insurance rate goes down by each year you drive without a major incident. I believe it is 10% per year to a max of 75% reduction (may remember this wrong). And after this you build up a "buffer" of the out-of-pocket expense if you do have an incident. I have driven incident free for many years and have max buffer and would as such not pay anything at all if I do have an incident. However I would perhaps lose 10% on that reduction that was mentioned.

Insurance rates here (Austria) don't depend on age that much, they depend on how many years you've not had an accident (that the insurance would have to pay for), so they drop every year that the insurance knows your a good driver (not having been in an accident, not having used the insurance.) This system makes sense to me. BTW - as an Austrian who drives in Germany quite a lot (Deutsches Eck) but also really through Germany - Germans don't really know how to drive on the Autobahn if it's more than 2 lanes. Eg: a four lane Autobahn: trucks and slow vehicles should be on the far right lane, the far left lane should be for the fast drivers, the two others for the ones sort of medium speed. If you're not faster than the one to your right, you should pull over to that lane. (there is a rule of "keep right") I've been stuck in the left lane driving 90km/h behind someone who is afraid of the trucks on the far right many times... until I decided that passing on the right is OK in Germany (which it isn't, sometimes it's your only option)... So that's what I do now, pass on the right when necessary, only in Germany

The silver Audi hitting the little red car was amazing to see for me. This was around the corner from my house here in Stourbridge, UK. The Audi was stolen and went over a bridge and took off, all 4 wheels so couldn’t slow down to avoid hitting the other car. Hence why driver ran away. Only about a year ago-ish.

Yes, in Europe we have yield signs in intersections with traffic lights. That way you always know who have to yield, if the traffic lights are down.

re learner's cars in Poland - before you get a license you can only drive with a certified instructor in a specially modified car - it has 2nd clutch &break pedal on instructor's side. There's no option like in US or Ireland to drive a standard car with just someone that has a license.

4:57 Zigzag-striped markings of the border between the cycle path and the carriageway of cars are painted at particularly critical places on the country roads. Experience from Australia, England and the USA shows that such stripes make road users more aware of keeping their distance from each other.

12:23 Looks like the dashed lines have been removed (although not fully, see the proper ones later); a solid line means no over-taking. I suspect that means this is not the first time someone did this on that stretch of road. After the rise, the dashed lines are clear again, meaning those cars on the side with the dashes are allowed to overtake, those without the dashes are not.

6:00. Back in february 27th, '96, I was living near a highway in Belgium. There was a huge chain collision in Nazareth (near Deinze) due to sudden fog. More then 200 cars crashed and burned. More then 80 casualties and over 10 deaths were reported. They had to change the road surface due to the fire. The reason why the amount of casualties was still considered low, is because the locals intervened pretty quickly and kept helping out the emergency services. The fire was so hot that lighting poles on the side of the road melted and cars couldn't be identified anymore. A fireman also reported to not see the fire, but only to feel the heat. It is in the top 5 of chain collsions in the world. Not all clips are from Europe though...

It's hard to see from the potato quality clip of the fog incident, but it seems like nobody has their rear fog lights turned on, which would be mandatory here (the Czech Republic) in such weather and could've prevented the incident, *and* the car with the dashcam seems to be driving way too fast, given the visibility conditions, which would also be considered a driving offence (you're supposed to adjust your speed according to visibility so you're able to react to unforeseen situations properly). So the clip is painful on several levels. Also all cars have a mandatory insurance here, you are not allowed to drive without it. How much it is is based on several criteria, including the age of the car owner, number incidents in the past and also the engine displacement, with 200(ish) dollars per year being the rough average. If you cause an accident, this is what pays for the basic repairs for the other driver. Then, on top of that, you can get additional insurance that covers extra stuff depending on the plan.

On the last clip: the line between lanes was solid and not dashed, therefore disallowing overtaking maneuvers. Once they passed the crest of the hill the there was a second dashed line on the right, allowing that lane to pass, but not the other. So your comments are not just common sense but actually reflected in the road markings.

11:43 your're right, the other guy is in the wrong - if the cam had green, they had red. What may be confusing here for an American is that there is a yield sign AND traffic lights. All you need to know is that the yield sign is only for when the traffic lights don't work (or are blinking yellow). The order of priority rules is: 1. right before left (in most countries) 2. priority signs, yield signs and stop signs overrule (1) 3. traffic lights overrule (1) and (2) 4. signals by policemen overrule (1), (2), and (3)

In the smaller roads the one with the obstacle in their path must wait, but it can be hard to spot traffic, and if you're already beside obstacle it is better for the oncoming driver to let you through

Officers on ground managing traffic supersedes traffic lights, then if there is no one physically managing intersections then traffic lights, which supersedes signs. If there are no lights then signs and when signs aren't available then traffic right hand side takes priority

Most European cars have side repeater units somewhere near the front wheelarch which flashes along with the other indicators, so look out for that as that should give other road users positioned alongside them (and can't see the rear lights) an idea if they're changing lane only if they're using their indicators while changing lane.

8:30 that in fact was in Poland, March 2022, Tarnów city. And it was Chevy Equinox, probably imported. Unfortunately there's no solid information of what really happend. People ware speculating, that Chevy driver was drunk or get spooked, didn't properly changed gears from *reverse to *drive, so he/she floored it, thinking it's in *drive and it's rolling back on him/her. Results we can see on the video. Škoda was in fact driving shool car with learning driver behind the wheel.

10:30 since this sequence seems to take place in France, what we see is probably a 16-to-18 years old learning to drive with their parent on the passenger seat. This is not a driving instructor car since they have a big sign on the roof. This is probably why we see the person leaning to push the wheel away. My guess is that the driver was scared of seeing the car coming toward them and veered too far toward the parked car. 11:14, the text says : "Yelding mistake (see signs) vehicle economically non-repairable" "ABS not working at the time of the accident, car slided left on the wet asphalt (then I can't read because it's white and white) 12:30 : in Europe a solid white line mean you can't overtake, the reason why here is very obvious, no visibility because of the hill. Here, the added broken line on the right mean that cars on the right, after the hill top, can overtake, because they have better visibility than cars on the other side.

11:55 The arrow does not mean "right of way" it merely points out the driving direction. The VW being in the wrong I wouldn't know because he is coming from the right, so he has right of way but at the same time he is not following the lane because he driving across parking spots. So my guess is if they would have collided, they would both be partly to blame and when taken to court a judge would could decide anything from 50/50 up to 10/90 or the other way 90/10. So best to avoid these kind of collisions altogether.

Hello from France A solid white line drawn in the middle of the road means in France: no overtaking. Some year ago I worked in a port. Once when I finished my working day around 9 p.m. in winter there was very thick fog, I had to stop twice to find out if I was on the road, I was especially afraid of falling in water

Hi Ian! I could well imagine that the driver of the "flying in" car suffered a heart attack and no longer had control over his (?) BMW, especially since he crashed into it completely unchecked. A few years ago this happened in our small town, where the driver died and a family who happened to be exactly where the Audi crashed into the wall of a house was seriously injured...

In Poland, OC (insurance you need to have to drive) is about 150$ a year if you have good history, with mini AC (if your car is stolen it covers up to 10k $) its around 200-250$, and full AC will be like 350-400$, for a typical car like Focus or Golf.

One night, a friend and I were on our way home. Suddenly there was a very dense fog. You couldn't even see the front of the hood. He kept creeping forward while I walked along, feeling the edge of the road with my feet. Lucky for us, there was nobody else on the road at this time. I have never experienced fog this dense since then. That was 40+ years ago.

The one going up the hill.. he also crossed the solid line. So it's forbidden to go over that which means you're not allowed to overtake. Pretty obvious why that is of course. After the hill you see a dotted line on one side. Which means you may overtake from that side of the road, since it's going downhill. If you come from the other side you have a solid line because you're going uphill.

1:00 seems to be the "I have my blinker on so I have right of way" Mindset. If you check carefully the blinker is on when they crash. 2:08 I always say, would you rather be right or have you rather have an accident? You can see that dark car is coming over and not stopping. 2:48 Wow he had no chance. Where are the police when you need them. 3:05 Ouch. Annnd another runner. 3:15 European rich bogan? Diagonal road lines are interesting. 5:36 That person walking is WAY calmer than I would be! 5:58 "I can't see in this fog, so I am going to go the speed limit, it can't end badly". 7:32 Has got to be on 'something'. 9:36 Drongo got was coming to him. You can see the other car is going too fast to overtake. 9:48. Really. 10:19 Good situational awareness. Next few must be driving with their eyes closed. 12:23 "Overtaking on the crest of a hill, what can go wrong?" I would say the driving is about as good here.

(S): About fog; turn on hazard lights and rear fog lights. Slow down so you can stop within sight. If you have to stop behind another car(?), then do not stop close, and not directly behind but to the right or left behind. What is the problem? Everyone in Europe is learning this (common sense).

My husband was driving from Hamburg to Flensburg at night and it suddenly got super foggy, luckily everyone started going 50kmh or less with hazard/emergency lights on.. To my surprise, he started rummaging through his side and a few seconds later said “got it!”.. Fog rear lights! I didn’t even know they existed! Fast forward. Less than a year ago we bought a new car and one of the few questions I had was “where are the fog lights?” 😂

(S): In Sweden, comprehensive car insurance is cheap. Slightly more expensive if you are under 25, or if you say that anyone under 25 is allowed to use. Your "comprehensive insurance" covers everyone's costs and liability. Driver, passenger, other vehicle and anyone else directly affected. GOOGLE and learn.

Hi and thanks for the video, I'm from Denmark and in my forties. My car insurance is about 850 dollars. PER YEAR. It covers everything, including liability. I just had a small side door accident on the highway and I got the whole side of the car repaired and I get money in hand for the depreciation. My insurance is not going to increase. My cousin lives in new orleans and her car insurance is about $850 A MONTH. It's madness.

In the UK, the current average car insurance is £625 per year for comprehensive cover. Much higher for new drivers, regardless of age. I'm 40 and have my driving test next month; am having to budget around £4-5k for 3rd party, fire & theft cover.

Narrow streets in Europe are often kept that way for traffic calming (plenty of driveways leaving clear turn-out places); however, in the UK instance you show, it was likely the camera car driver's fault he didn't pull over first, but the fact that the vans were both parked nose down may in fact indicate that the oncoming car was going the wrong way down a one-way street. European car insurance is generally much cheaper than in the US, as most people also carry mandatory personal liability insurance, car inspection standards are strict, and drunk driving BAC/license revocation limits are lower (and fines are *much* higher). That's *exactly* why you need mandatory bright red foglights. Most of these clips are from the UK, which is sort of the Florida of Europe driving skill-wise. To save electricity, many European traffic lights also have stop or yield signs underneath for after hours when the power is turned off; when the signals are off, the signs prevail.

The camera car was in the right. No obstruction on their side of the road they have right of way. The oncoming car should have been taking FAR more care while having to enter the opposing carriageway. Modern UK housing estate, open plan gardens, windy narrow roads to keep speeds down. Houses will have driveways, many will also have planning restrictions like you can't have more vehicles than you can fit on your driveway. All to keep roads clear, but many folk do.

the scariest moment i've ever had behind the wheel was when my vans windscreen wipers stopped working on the motorway during really heavy rain. I could not see anything. I got in the slow lane and went 50mph all the way home but yeah no visibility is way worse than ice or snow!

At 06:00 that fog happens around here semi-often in certain periods of the year, and that is why I will NEVER buy a Tesla until they get radar sensors again, you need a radar sensor to break in time for people who are stopped on the road in heavy fog. My Audi saved me in the exact same situation as this on the highway, it had detected stopped vehicles, before I could see anything myself. Luckily most other EVs have radar sensors these days :)

At 02:11 you can see a sign on the right side, that trespassing is prohibit.. At 06:11 In Germany you have to put on your fog-light in this situation.

Of the street lights are out you will always have signs that tell you what to do. If there are no signs you look at markings on the road. If there are no markings. Whichever comes from your right has the right of way. If you have green you are good to go. If the lights are only yellow(at night sometimes) you do what the signs tell you.

Several videos are not even from Europe, I recognized Australia in few clips. And Equinox was most probably imported, some Chevy were sold here, but smaller ones and mostly Korean-based - Aveo/Sonic, Spark, Cruze, Lacetti, Epica, Orlando, and one gen. of Malibu. Btw for crazy driving check channels Bad Drivers of Italy or Stop Cham from Poland. :)

12:13 the rules inside a multi-lane roundabout vary by country, so depending where the cars entered it may very well be that this was the BMW's fault not the Renault's. (the cammer is of course at fault as well, for failing to keep enough distance)

Clip 2 is your typical generic newbuild estate in Britain. No room for cars to park and good luck getting an emergency vehicle through one! The developers cram as many houses into the smallest land, and then palm the infrastructure job onto the local councils after all land has gone. It wouldn't surprise me if the estate in the video was built on the land from one 1940's 3 bedroom house, in probably the mid 90's (all newbuilds look the same 1990-2020).

The other reason the roads are small in new build estates is to keep the speeds down.The houses are open plan gardens, planning regulations prohibit fences/hedges/walls the roads are deliberately twisty all for safety with regards children running off the gardens onto roads. Anyone going over 20mph in those is an idiot.

@@Tannadeechee Yeah sadly it doesn't work though, i used to live in a newbuild estate with narrow roads and cars parked where they could, at least 4 of my neighbors used to drive like it was a drag strip. I had a go at one once because she drove so fast that stones would kick up and chip my cars paint and hit the front window of the house, no lie she must have got up to 45mph it was crazy!

The one I live in no one seems capable of keeping their car on the correct side of the road and straight line every bend, including 90 degree blind bends. Always your fault though if they nearly hit you!!

This white car at 8:29 is from driving school 😀 And it is not one causing problem! And Fiat is pretty popular car, especially in Italy (for obvious reasons) and Poland (because Fiat has big factory there). And because they are simple and relatively cheap.

Insurance for car that i have in Czechia (Czech republic) is counted by: What brand of car, what motor, what type of car (SUV, hatchback, sedan etc.) how old is that car AND mostly which i making the biggest diference in price is For how long did you have any insurance before and if you didnt have any car crash in that time. So lets say i started insurance with my old hatchback Ford Fiesta 2005 motor was 1,3 51kW petrol, - insurance cost me at start (bcs i had nothing before) 8000czk which is 351,81 US$ and tree years after it went down to 6000 czk which is 263,86 US$ per year. (it was 8 years ago) Now i have brand new car SUV with 1,6 120kW and im back to 8000czk 351,81$ bcs its brand new and have bigger engine :)

Here in Denmark when I first got my license at 18, I payed 9000DKK (1311$) a year for insurance. This was only the minimum mandatory insurance, that only covered other peoples cars and injuries in the event of an accident. My car wasn't covered in that. I was lucky to get a plan where I after 3 years, would become a so called elite driver, if I didn't have any accidents. Now I pay for the same insurance 2000DKK 291 a year. Normally you become an elite driver at age 25 or even later at some insurance companies. I do not know how that compares to other contries but im curious to find out.

where i live it varys by the car you drive, by age, and by your trafic history, for example my 1999 golf with 66kw(89hp) only costs 80$ a year to insure. while my bmw(175hp) costs 200$.
