There is a method to the spacing on the ixf I can tell you this much if your bottom bracket measures 68 mm on the shell of the frame you need two spacers on the drive side and one on the left side for proper installation and spacing with this setup typically the chainring is Center on the cassette mounted on the inside but whatever centers your chainring to the cassette determines if you mount it inside or outside
@WOLFTICKVIDEOS
@WOLFTICKVIDEOS 3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha we get these methods all the time. The thing is we have done about 9or10 of these things and I'm not sure that two of them were the same. The GT has no spacers on the drive side I believe and the Temissor has one but we might need to remove it because it is out of alignment. When it comes to this budget bike stuff, I don't think there is any universal method that works all of the time😂. But thanks for the advice, and it was nice to hear from you.👍

don't worry those pedals are no where near as polished and scratched up as mine. but I lay the bike on the asphalt, crash, hit rocks, concrete walls. technical riding in the forest and urban mtb. pedals will look like that, not an issue, as long as there is no structural damage it's fine. also bar end plugs will also look like that.

Just a tip for next time For a full suspension bike you would want to take the rear shock out and push the chain stays to the seat tube and then cut the chain in that position and that’s how you get your chain length correct because when in the highest gear the chain with extend so you will need a longer chain.

I struggled with where the chainring went as well. The ixf crankset is for a 3x setup originally, one ring on outside, one on the inside which is why they have those ledges and the smaller ring would go on the smaller holes on the inside of the crank. The trick is mounting it on the inner tab but using the spacers to get the correct chain line. Such a pain! Bike looks great either way!

My god, you had to get brutal with that bb! Was it really late when you filmed that? Because that was some tired person ranting right there, really made me laugh though 😂😂😂 My ixf came with plastic spacers and didn't even have the pre load nut, which was annoying. I'm with Wolfman on this, I think the ring should be behind the spider. I noticed that the ixf crankset looks to be set up to take three rings, so if you think about it behind the spider is actually the more central position. Keep the movies in! Would love to see your collection, looks like you have some absolute classics 😎 Great video as always boys, take care 🍻🍻

Hey brother, I would say ride what you got for a while then look at a 1x ixf upgrade. They do offer a 2x but it's it's little finicky. Then you can find a rear wheel and get an entire groupset upgrade, something like the acolyte would be sweet.
