I have a question about the dropper. As you know the seat post goes nowhere near bottoming out due to the bolts, even if removed. Is there anyway to solve that and how much higher is a dropper when all the way down that just the seat all the way down? I want a dropper but already feel that the stock seat doesnt get low enough for descending and being out of the way? I dont want to waste money on a dropper if it doesnt get low. I wish there was a way to have the seat all the way down at times.

if its 34mm stanchion then it could be 130mm travel..just like what FOX do in their lineup 32=100, 34=130 etc..

#411-You're more than half way there! I just looked at that bike the other day. It's pretty sweet for a Wally-world bike. Yeah, the rails to trails up here is the 385 mile Ohio Erie trail that I wrote you about earlier when I was asking you about a fork for my Trouvaille. I want to build a trailer that I can pull my kayak with and bikepack the whole thing in the fall.

Hey guys! I'm new to the channel, but I found you because I searched for Kent Trouvaille. I'm kind of an old guy, but pretty active and into backpacking and kayaking. I build my own small expedition boats...well, I am just setting up my little shop here at my house, I just moved and my new/old house has an underground 2 bay garage, So I'm setting it up as my outdoor outfitters shop. Anyway, another old guy, friend of mine was a bike dealer and he got out of it. He sold off everything except a couple of bikes that he really liked. I told him that I was interested in getting into bikepacking since where we live there's hundreds of miles of trails. He said he had the perfect bike for me, his 2023 Kent Trouvaille. It's in almost new condition and I love the bike. I'm wondering if this Balony fork is a good option for it for replacement? Or could you recommend one? I want to set the bike up as a dual-purpose machine for long stretches of paved rail-trails carrying camping gear. I'm going to buy a bike-trailor and set it up to haul my kayak, so I can do the Erie bike trail and do some paddling on the Erie canal. Around here, we have some light trails that I've taken the bike on. It's functional, a little bit big for me at 5'9 and 190lbs, but it's really good on the paved and gravel trails, other than a slight shifting issue that Im trying to work out. I think I'm going to need to replace the derailleur. This one, I can only get 8 gears out of it. It was slightly bent and I started adjusting it and I can get all the big gears or all the little gears but not all 9. So I set it for the big gears since we've got a lot of long hills. That's actually how I found your channel, I was looking for rear derailleur videos. I really want to upgrade the bike to make it favorable for bikepacking, other than just adding a bunch of bags and racks and crap. The Erie trail is something like 385 miles and I want to do it in the fall, and camp and Kayak along the way. It's sort of an experiment, I'll be 56 and I try to do a "test" each year...on my 50th in 2018, I flew to Thailand and backpacked the entire country, then I decided to stay a while, found a teaching job and ended up living there for 5 years and backpacking and dual-sport riding all over Asia on my KLX230. I'm really glad to be back in the states and I'm planning on doing a lot of outdoor adventure traveling over the next...well, however long I've got left! 😅 Any recommendations for the bike would be greatly appreciated. I got it for less than half of what they sold for, so there's some incentive to upgrade. Incidentally, what do you think of the SRAM X5 long cage? I was reading in a forum that a lot of people have used it as an upgrade for the Trouvaille. Hey thanks guys for reading my long comments. I'm really glad I found your channel. I may try to do some bikepacking videos myself, although I'm not much for video editing, it takes a lot of time and I'm always working it seems. Love your videos by the way. Thanks again.

I live in Florida and just want something for jumps w smooth landings (atleast where ur supposed to land🤣) and the occasionally peddle-assisted downhill. I did notice an upgraded model of the vibe which I may go for. I like extreme stuff, but I’m at the beginner level when it comes to MTB. I understand the gripes, but yall said enough good stuff to sell a beginner like me

I have these on my new Trek Roscoe 8 and went over the bars twice in the first week and wiped out once😂. They are very powerful. After a few weeks I got used to them and they're a bit better after breaking in properly. One finger breaking is key. Great brakes but my XT and XTR brakes on my other bikes have much better modulation.

Sentimental? My bike needs a tune-up brakes adjusted picked it up in a work trade but as I build my health back I'm concerned it's not good enough. I see these bikes are from 2021 and we're sold at Dick's sporting goods and most reviews consider them somewhere between Wally World and a thrift store. I think that I would like the bike better if it shifted better but I haven't been able to get out of one or two easy gears and because it doesn't shift well when I'm moving I don't change it out of the easy gear whether I'm uphill or downhill. It looks like I'm getting between 1:00 and 4 MI a day in with a few days off here and there and I'm really wanting a good bike so I'm going to watch the rest of the video here to get some clues.

Holy Hannah! That groupset is a wildy over the top upgrade for that bike!!! Looking forward to seeing it in action. Will you need a new rear wheel to get a cassette instead of the freewheel? Upgrading to a carbon fork would make for a nice video as well I think. Cheers guys!

Great video! Is there much difference between a S and a M size? I’m 5’6 and stocky and bought a M switchback comp and it seems a bit sluggish and a hard to ride up hills. I ended up returning the bike and was wondering if I should try the expert in a S size and see if it’s a bit more comfortable/manageable and easier to ride. The expert is currently $699 where I live and hopefully drops down soon.
@WOLFTICKVIDEOS
@WOLFTICKVIDEOS 2 күн бұрын
Yes, the size small is a 27.5 so should be a lot less sluggish and the wheelbase will be shorter as well. Def a big difference in climbing but will be a noticeable difference in top end speed.

So, I over did the upgrades, basically I paid $248.00 for frame. what I have done so far Fork, Manitou Markhor (parts bin) Headset, Cane Creek 40 ZS44/28.6 / ZS44/30 (Planet Cyclery sale) Headset spacers, Sumind Carbon fiber (parts bin) Stem, RaceFace Affect R 35 90mm (parts bin) Bar, OneUp carbon fiber flat bar (parts bin) Grips, Ergon GP3 (Planet Cyclery sale) Brake levers, Avid FR-5s (Amazon) Shifters, SRAM X5 9 Speed trigger shifter set (Planet Cyclery sale) Wheels, WTB i23 27.5 (parts bin) Tires, WTB Byway 47 650b (Planet Cyclery sale) Cassette, SRAM PG-970 11-34 9 speed (Planet Cyclery sale) R. Derailleur, SRAM X5 9 speed long cage BLK (Planet Cyclery sale) Chain, SRAM PC-971 9 speed (Planet Cyclery sale) Crank, GANOPPER 165mm 2X Crankset (Amazon) Pedals, Crank Brothers 50/50 (Parts bin) Chain Rings, DECKAS Round 52T & Oval 34T (Amazon) Seat Post, 3K Carbon Fiber 27.2 350mm (Amazon) Saddle, Ergon ST Core Evo (Amazon) I think the last thing I am going to do is add the Magura Trail Sport brake set; the brakes as they come just won't do in an emergency braking event.

I made my GT Aggressor Pro into a janky gravel bike, minus the drop bars. It's actually more enjoyable riding it converted to a gravel bike then it was a mtb, I think mostly because how light it is now.

Been enjoying my G1. Had to adjust it to fit me. Flipped the stem angled up, made a big difference. Got lucky and all my functionals were dialed in. A lot of people complain about the brakes, but I’ve not seen an issue nor feel the need to upgrade. The tires are a little noisy on pavement as others have mentioned, but not loud and I’ve had no issues with performance. Thinking of getting a pair for my schwinn I also have the updated Vibe in a medium. It got upgraded pedals, new seat and seat post, and new grips. I don’t like the shifter brake combination. Works like it’s supposed to, just not my preference. So it will be getting a micro shift and new brake levers.
