I know I'm a bit late on this (got a bit of a backlog), but Gishath does not work that way with double damage exactly. When dividing damage, while a "deal double damage" effect is present, you assign the unmodified damage. So for trample: if you block Gishath with Tymaret, you assign 2 to Tymaret and 5 to Ken. Then the damage is doubled, so Ken takes 10 and you reveal 10 cards. Still would not have saved Ken from the second commander damage swing, but it certainly could have stunted Matt's early game progression.

MestHoop it’s 6 in one hand v half a dozen in the other. You just assign 1 instead then trample the rest over because the assigned 1 is doubled so it’s lethal. The spell doubles damages to all so it does not matter if the creature or place. The assigned 1 now means he can do 6 which doubles to 12 trampling over.

Ms. Sysbit: Sadly that is not how it works. You NEED to assign lethal damage to a blocker before you can assign trample damage, but this designation of damage does not take damage doubling effects into account. From notes and rules information on damage doubling: If a creature with trample you control would deal combat damage to a blocking creature this turn, you must assign its unmodified damage. For example, a 3/3 creature with trample blocked by a 2/2 creature can only have 1 damage assigned to the defending player. It will then deal 4 damage to the blocking creature and 2 to the defending player.

MestHoop wtf? Then what is the point of having doubled damage towards creatures? Now you’re just overkilling the creature as assigning excess damage. What’s the point if it reads double afterwards? Isn’t the doubling effect static so it should be constant regardless?

Sadly that is just how trample works. But then again, any trample damage is still doubled, so there definitely is a point to it.

Gishath is so much fun. I might put Insult into mine, seems good. I got a Grappling Hook in mine to equip and give double strike, as well as a few protection spells. People really tend to target Gishath pretty quickly once it's out. Sunbird's Invocation is a nice touch as well.

Does the Ixidor deck have Ixidron? That would have crippled Dino Daddy a bit if it hit the board while still being able to flip your own creatures if Ixidor came after it. That was pretty much a video showing a one player bully but I'm surprised the table didn't turn on him after the first swing.

It's in there, I just never drew it. Ended up getting really flooded that game and never hit any draw power outside of the Fathom Seer.

hey there friends ^^ i have a question and maybe u can help me out here; i currently have a kaalia and an arahbo deck (but both are from the pre constructed commander decks) and now i want to build a nice commander deck by myself - but i dont know which commander to use actually :( first i thought of ulrich, but he is kinda the same as arahbo, and just buffing is kinda lame (but i like the R/G colors) if u have any recommendations, just let me know ^^ (ps. im mostly playing 1vs1 commander and im looking for something 2 colored) thank you in advance

Firefist97 you can't go wrong with the preconstructed decks, so starting with one of them would be good. Apart from that, picking a commander that fits the theme and colors that you want is a good rule of thumb. Edhrec is a good website for getting info on popular commanders and popular cards in those commander decks.

If you aim to stick to 1v1, then you can't go wrong with Xenagos. He's a classic. If you want to spread out a bit, however, might I recommend Rosheen Meanderer? She's unique in her color pairing.

The reason gishath was able to go off so much is because the enchantress deck was lacking white. All of the good removal in enchantress is in white and some of the card draw!
