FYI. You can destroy your stocked goods in the storage area. It will destroy all that is in that storage So move it to a smaller one if you don't want the trash all. Thanks for the video also!

I've gone through 3 different layout guides. They are very efficient at packing buildings into each Sector. But I'm only in Chapter 3 and have 5 Sectors. It's really hard to keep track of everything and transfer all my resources. Your approach is so much more efficient, I'm really tempted to start the game over. This is the best set of tips I've found! BUT this isn't nearly as easy as you make it sound (at least not for me!). By my estimate, to get to where you are near the end of Chapter 2 will require: 4034 Alloy, 99 Electronics, 2533 Polymer and 3369 Science. So far, I haven't found the magic combination that you used to generate all this -- balancing people, resources, time, stability and hull integrity has proven challenging indeed. Apparently you must have stayed at the end of Chapter 2 for about 2000 cycles.

Thank you for the kind words! It was quite a time ago and I cannot recall precise cycle count, but you are right - it required for me to delay progression quite a lot! It's hard from me to comment on precise numbers, I will trust your data and calculations here. Also important to note - it was done once the game was released, I know for the fact there was updates and balance changes, which might help or set back the planning I've done. And now I'm curious how the game has changed and if there is even better (faster) way to achieve the same :D

Nice video, one question though, when you say just open two sectors...are you for real? Are you able to play the game with just two sectors?

Yes and yes! Not through the whole game as the storyline will push you to open then - BUT 2 sectors are enough to achieve self sustainable state where you can freely unlock everything and then easily proceed through the rest of the campaign ;)
