Everyone is ready to invest and develop slums, do ask the slum people are they interested to allow the development. I been to mumbai spoke to many poor people they are uneducated and very poor, they are happy with what they have, they dont like development.

Let's hope everything goes well and Dharavi gets develop but one thing I or the people of dharavi are worried is why Dharavi co-op hsg society which is the first and largest developed society is taken in this project and the entire area is marked as SALE area, why, and then if this is done to a developed society and what will be the status of slums and why this new 2months old government is in a hurry, and why the other bidder Seclink which they say is Dubai based builder has filed a case against Adani when they both are Gujarat based. Is this a part of some game plan to get order from court to vacate the poor people and give them houses in vasai. Virar Or Palghar. Something is 🐠🐋🐟 and people of Dharavi are worried.

They do most crimes. I am not saying this for all bt for most. And they live in slums cuz they don't have to pay maintenance, tax just some money they pay to slum mafias. And hence instead of living in other cities or states they live in slums cuz in slums cost is less. Bt Malad, kurla and ghatkopar slums are bigger than dharavai.

Most people are not buying houses in buildings or chawls or societies due to high prices. Many migrants also thinking to live on rent in mumbai for life time. As it's cheaper option than buying house. U can google also. People buying houses in buildings mostly for investments. That's why Chinese people buying houses in mumbai. Many mumbaikars are now buying houses in usa, europe. Cuz slum population is increasing and it's a burden on people who pay tax. Till 2040 55-60% population of mumbai is just from slums.

The aim of the project must be Sustainable Business / Sustainable residential accommodation the first of its kind in the whole world to every legal resident of Dharavi . Those who cannot be accommodated here must be given entrepreneurship elsewhere throughout the length and breadth of maharashtra as various business clusters. Especially the tanning industry which must be away from populated area where there is abundant secondary treated water so that the discharged water from tanning industry doesnt pollute our water bodies. More green space which is quite the opposite of more concrete space should be in place at dharavi. The software planning and cad design must be done by Infosys.
