Three small things you haven't mentioned: 1. Slashless dimensional cape can also be easily auto-cancelled at a certain height (aim diagonally upwards, but not too much), as well as horizontally from a full hop. The opponent pretty much HAS to respect it, because they don't know if you'll slash, if you'll land behind them, if you'll land in front of them, or if you'll end up in the air with no lag when you reach the ground. Slashing dimension cape autocancels from full-hop + straight up. 2. Holding jab at ledge can sometimes safely 2-frame recoveries that extend past ledge. If the opponent panics and throws out a move in the hopes it'll come out as a getup attack, that's often a stock. Works great on Cloud. 3. Drill rush clipping. If you start a drill rush on stage (safe distance away from the ledgen about mid-stage on FD is fine) and aim it slightly downwards, drill rush will stop at the ledge, but the hitbox will still be active. This makes for an easy 2-frame. Bonus: Funny quirk from upwards slashing dimension cape, it can reach top platform on BF, while regular dimensional cape cannot. Seems like the slashing makes MK snap to the platform.

Nair hitting ledge hangs is nice too. But only the back lower hit box does it consistently. Gotta love all the small things with MK.

DC "autocancelling" isn't the move auto cancelling and instead the move completing it's endlag in the air, all of Meta Knight's specials work like this besides shuttle loop.

Thankfully it's still difficult to pull off consistently for Kazuya, unlock the script for Bayonetta in Smash 4. Literally anyone could pull that bullshit off with Bayonetta not even half an hour after playing her.

@@Moss_Dude muscle memory alone won't guarantee you throwing out the EWGF. I'm saying this as someone who's actually played Tekkén for a while, Smash Brothers has far too many outside factors than a simple button input. There's lag of all kinds: input lag, & internet lag being big problems for consistently throwing it out. Not to mention that just the EWGF is only part of that whole combo.

So hyped, MK visually has always been the coolest character to me. He's the only character i've ever played in Brawl and 4 because i was super casual and just wanted to play the cool round sword guy. Then i got ultimate and wanted to take it more serious and never thought of maining meta knight ,went through and am still going through the deepest character crisis anyones ever gone through. I really hope this guide gives me my love for meta knight back so that crisis can end so i can stick to a character and stop going 0-2/1-2

This cohesive explanation explains why I considered SSBU MK the swordie counterpick. The way that he finds opportunities to dash in on a dime makes it so that grounded sword disjoints are the least of his worries. Because of that, his lack of range only really troubles him in air-to-air scenarios. Out of all the swordies, Corrin's much trickier ground flowcharts, and Byleth's destructive aerial buttons have to be some of his most difficult obstacles in neutral.

I was wondering if next time you can do a quick weakness list for people trying to go against the character. As this not only will provide information for opponents. It will also provide information for the meta knight to know that "these" are the weaknesses and how to minumize them.

@@KalikoAF no, the only changes they had was to Pit's Final Smash. Both of their moves are the same animations, last I checked the same frame data & effects. Like, I think their damage & knockback got altered, but that happened for *_EVERY_* character. That's just a global change.

At low percents: some hits At mid percents : dash attack into ladder or down throw into bridge F-smash is safe so you can whiff it in neutral When the opponent is offstage: go EDGEGUARD.

Should you have tap jump on or off with meta knight? When I have it on I can do a full hop double upair onto a platform more consistantly, but I can't snap to ledge as easily with reverse up b.
