This guide has actually been super helpful for me as a new izayoi player, just focusing on the super basics of "keep them out with fireball/5B and 623b when they jump" has helped a lot more than other guides that go straight into complicated pressure stuff and optimal combos, and who needs complex pressure anyway when at this level the only mix I need is fireball > 214D :>

I picked up central fiction like a week ago at full price, haven't regretted it. Had a ton of fun with kokonoe, but felt my tiny brain being pushed to the limits by the high execution. I have no idea if I was playing neutral well or not because i could only convert off of one move. Decided to swap to Mai and having a ton of fun. Her more advanced combos are a bit unintuitive because they need u to wait out the timings so your move doesn't come out as the autocombo, but i've been having fun with the spinny flips and dashes. Once my setplay/awareness gets better I might pick up kokonoe again, because she is really cool.

Izayoi has really come a long way honestly, her first iteration in BBCP 1.0 was low key suffering since before, 5B 236B didn't actually combo and 5B 5C was inconsistent due to 5B being longer than both her normal 5C and Gain-Art 5C, so at longer ranges, she could really only get non counter hit 5B 236C off for only two stocks and it forced the player to be better at hitconfirming than usual since there were more "variables" to take into consideration than usual (range, whether it counter hit or not). Some of the changes that she received in CPEX that she still enjoys in CF today is being able to combo into 236B from 5B and 5C moving her slightly forward, making 5B 5C xx a more consistent route. Plus they finally made her 623C a DP which really helps her defense. These changes may seem small at first but these were really big QoL changes, at least for me as someone who had played her before she became known as "EZyoi" lol All that being said, I would've liked to see SKD's Izayoi in BBCP 1.10 (before CPEX and CF) in action more. Personally, I liked her routes in that version more but more importantly, that was when he put that character on the map and made her work before her QoL changes.

I *greatly* prefer your BlazBlue stuff man. Your love of the game (and knowledge) make the experience very different than like Strive which you might not hate but you def arent a big fan of. I'm like 90% KZbin consumer of your stuff, and I make it a point to watch your BlazBlue stuff since you said it does poorly on YT. I've been trying Ragna, but after this I might try one of these.

I'd love to see a video on Nu 13. It's been ages since I blaz blued but I really enjoyed her game play. I was always more of a Gear player but something about Nu's fast combo mid range zoning felt super fun. I dabbled with lambda and mu a bit when they released but I didnt like how they felt. I cant find anything recent on Nu and I'm assuming she is pretty low tier, but I'm anxious to see if her play style still feels fun in this game. After Christmas I'm planning to finally get the game on steam and start playing again, but I'd love to see an experienced player show some of the basic flow that she has in this game.

Izayoi's cool but my slight problem with the character is her inputs. With my controller it's hard to be consistent with her qcf and dp inputs and if you get the wrong one, you're screwed. Also, being used to other characters, it is easy to hit D out of habit expecting a move but instead you get an unwanted mode change.

I wanted to play Izayoi but I got scared and picked up her easier and less cool (IMO) counterpart Tsubaki because she was instantly easier to grasp for me as a new player who's gonna be playing against people who've been at it for years. I tried learning her some years ago but I sucked at neutral in power mode and my brain kinda just stopped working when I tried to do good mixups lmao. So, I started learning Lambda who is very fun and imoa bit stronger than most people make her out to be. I want to believe I am a better player now and may try with Izayoi again tho.
