I'm a beginner and Ozone does exactly what I needed at this point and what he says in the video: it takes the muffling blanket off of my mix and does it let breathe. I also like the presets, but the generated "starting point" after analyzing my tracks really does it for my! Happy customer 🤘 Peace 🖖

I totally agree...he's like the extra super patient and eloquent teacher you wished you'd had at school! He's made mixing and mastering in the box so much less complicated for me and easier to get good results, even if they're not at a professional level one would expect in a commercial studio. I'm not aiming to be a mixing or mastering engineer because I'm more focussed on the quality of the songs I write, but getting better finished tracks overall, as an enthusiastic singer songwriter, has been made massively easier thanks to Izotope and Geoff...so thanks, Geoff...much appreciated!!

This video is incredibly helpful. Ozone, as well as the other tools in the Izotope Suite appear a bit daunting at first glance for a hobbyist musician/recording artist such as myself. With all the options and adjustments available, it's easy to get a little overwhelmed. I appreciate the pace of this video and the clear explanations that Geoff provides! He doesn't miss any important details but also keeps it concise at the same time.

Thank you so much for giving us this video, which is an information about ozone, but also a workshop in mastering. Your voice sounds very calming, and your pronunciation is very good. May be important for everyone but definitely for me, because I’m not a native English speaker. You’re speaking velocity was not too fast, but also not too slow (so that everyone will fall asleep). Well done with good sound examples. Merci, Mario.

Maaaaaaannnnnnnn...The stem focus feature is fuego! Sheesh, I just downloaded the upgrade and can't wait to start using it!
@fedjaschwember20053 ай бұрын
The Stem Focus is a little Bluff. First., it isn't the work of a Master engineer to effect the Stems. The engineer always works with the main stereo Signal of the mix. And no AI in the world could go back in the Stems of the mix. It would be like isolating the eggs in your Cake batter. You will always work with some frequencys you could push up or down. In this case, he had a mix where the frequencys of the voice where highly pushed up (for whatever reason). Barley no other instrument filled it. And surprise : the effect on the voice was truly high.😂 So finally: If you have good Cake batter the master engineer will bake it well and get some decor on it. Not more....

Pretty lovely tut. thanks. the only thing I'd be interested in would be for the case "what when my specific genre doesn't appear in the list". Well, since I'm using Ozone (from 5 to now 11) I never found any Ambient related genre in the list. I fear the cinematic thing is more related to the more "epic" trailer thing, no?. but what if there's not much high end because I find it disturbing in Ambient music and I'd like to use the assistant, wouldn't it just try to bring up any high end anyways just to try to fix and balance the track?... sorry I'm still kind of newbie in mastering but more than willing to learn. thanks so much for any tips / replies on this. could it be that it could be done with kind of track matching thing?...

Geoff. I have watched tons of your videos and yes, they are clear, concise, and very well explained. You are simply one of the very best. I do have one question: In the dozens of Ozone 11 videos I have seen, including this one, I have never seen anybody move the left slider in the Clarity Module to expose what clarity does below around 300Hz. I'm thinking. "Does it even move?" Is there a reason you don't show what it does to the low freqs? Thanks again for another great video!

I love your videos; they're always so well demonstrated and articulated. I'm liking the new improvements, but was disappointed that the EQ curve on the Mastering Assistant main page still doesn't show the frequencies by number. It would tell me so much more than trying to guess. Labeling the sections as Low, Low-Mid, High-Mid, and High are great and all, but surely it wouldn't be difficult to give a bit more info?

Amazing. You are my favorite at showcasing the izotope products. These new features are amazing!!! Guess I can scrap Split EQ lol. Now question is how is phase affected by all this tonal and transient for each module back to back? Will there we a side recovery module added? cool! that transient sustain is the big plus above other eqs. a free eq like Mequalizer does have more flexibility with each band being separate appointed to mid side or stereo. when installed this, at least in Reason, it will not join my other izotope VSTs ,so now I have separate "iZotope" next to "iZotope, Inc." for imager and vinyl vst

I absolutely love the upgrade :-) You explain everything so well, thanks. A question though - I am an opera singer and do a lot of classical vocals and add orchestra to it, or just piano and a classical voice. In most, if not all products out there there isn't anything targeted to classical music with vocals. In the modules in Izotope we can choose between pop, rap, rock and more but no option for classical that has opera voices. I know when listening to classical recordings the sound is so different when comparing it with other genres of music as well in color as in volume/limited. Is the cinematic choice the best choice to go to? Maybe also something for the future for Izotope to think of to add a feature for the classical music. What advice can you give on using the genres for classical artist recording... Again, I love the upgrade 🙂
