More content like this, please... And if possible, please include the before edit sound sample, so we can practice with the real sample and using all the RX feature to edit it. Thanks before

Great to have a "real (post production) world" example - a tough one at that. Barber analyses and breaks down the elements to simplify what initially seems a complex mess of audio.

RX9 Adv is my go-to tool for audio post production. Last year I was able to create M&E stems for a movie from a 5.1 mix where no stems had been available. I was able to completely remove the voice acting from all tracks for later foreign language synchronization. Took around 3 weeks to finish but the distributor was very happy.

I’m new to videography & editing. I edit in Resolve Studio & Rx9 Advance literally save my ass on my recent Wedding Video. Fairlight couldn’t cut it. I used the grooms lav mic to cover the bride but all the background noise made it unusable, until rx9 advance dialogue isolate stepped in. Saved my whole film! It was worth every penny & is a game changer! Thanks for the review! 🙏🥰👍

Thanks for this. Would love to see a lot more content for film audio post. There's so much information if you want to use Izotope tools (or any audio tools really) for music production, but when it comes to film post education it seems sparse.

It's amazing what can be done but sometimes you have ask what are we rescuing when we process so much around the dialogue? For example everything that has been cleared out of Daniel's mic could probably be completely chopped as it's going to be filled with ambience and foley. Even the fade used after the processing was completed suggests the audio that's been cleaned around the dialogue is being unused anyway. I would probably just cut it and focus on his dialogue unless I'm trying to rescue his breaths too. I don't get enough time to do this sort of clean up maybe I'm just jealous lol

Why did you choose SpectralRepair instead of De-Bleed to reduce her dialogue bleed? 11:55 Great video, thank you!
@iZotopeOfficial3 жыл бұрын
For De-Bleed to work effectively, both microphones have to be stationary. Microphones on set were not.

What is the need to clean the sound when we record adr?
@nickpage91383 жыл бұрын
you loose the performance with adr, and the ambiance would be different, which is why the ambiance is added back from the main scene. If thats what you mean? Izotope is by far leading the way in the field if u ask me. Great video, thanks

I wish I could get RX 9 and dialogue isolate, but apparently, as a Production Suite subscriber, I am not very important to Izotope. I wonder how David Barber got his? #izotope

izotope rx 9 did very well in the field of Ambiance match and dialogue isolate. I think it still performs poorly in the field of eq match. And also in the dialogue match plugin. Well he can not do the simulation

But why work and process the audio before and after the desired part of the take, when that audio is literally muted in the Daw afterwards?? Makes no sense at all.. Is this just cause of demonstrative purposes?
@N1h1L33 жыл бұрын
I think both, remove all unwanted stuff so the fade in is as clean as possible. You want perfection. Also showcasing the possibilities.
@Trackformers3 жыл бұрын
@@N1h1L3 Yes, ur a 100% correct, i'd work all of it too, before tryina fade it. And yes, demonstrative purposes. Don't know why i even criticized the vid really. Guess i was on keyboard warrior settings that day. ✌🏾 And btw.. RX is freaking magic.. 🤤

Great question! You'll notice in the dialogue edit that the noise is also on the tracks above, below and around. So the edit plays "smoothly" as in that noisy audio hands off to the next noisy audio without a jarring cut or burst. Then in the process of denoising the chances are better that the denoised audio will hand off smoothly to the next piece as well. Plus the noise does exist on the dialogue itself so it's important to try and remove it there and a lot of the times having the noise outside the dialogue will inform what you're trying to remove from over the dialogue. On the main track above his mic track I did not fade in and out of the denoised audio and since that was the primary sound of the noise at the end of the day, I faded in and out of his just to try and sneak his dialogue in. Hope that makes sense and thanks for checking it out!
@Trackformers3 жыл бұрын
@@4dbarber Yes, I see!! The noise/anamolies are also present on the main track, which u did not fade in anyway, so the noises would sound natural and consistent. And then u faded in (sneaked in) the Mic track after processing the whole adudio file. I gotcha... Work flow makes total sense and sounds perfect!! As perfect as imperfections ever could ;) Just simply great!! Back when i got rx7 i was totally blown away by what it could do, and still am. It's truly fascinating to see how far they can push these things. Working on a podcast audio file today, super hyped to use RX again!! Real professional tools 🤤 And thanks for the reply David!
@4dbarber3 жыл бұрын
@@Trackformers Yes! And the rest of the tracks weren't cleaned in/for this video demo (that wouldn't taken a little bit of time) The only representation of what the final cleaned audio sounded like is in the opening in the "turning this... into this.." section. It's quick but you can hear how the cleaned tracks worked together in the end.
@nathancrowe44442 жыл бұрын
but like.... why do all that repair if you are just going to fade out the rest of the ambience anyway?

What's Pro Tools? I'm a videographer and you have lost me before we have started digging into any of the functionality. This interface is nothing like I have seen before. Do I need to edit in Pro Tools instead of editing with RX9 as a plug-in for DaVinci Resolve? If this video is for experienced audio editors, then fair enough. But if this is for noobs, like me, you can't assume we have this knowledge. Sorry Izotope, but I need to give you this feedback, as I am looking for videos that can help me, not confuse and frustrate me from the outset.
@andrewmason86912 жыл бұрын
Argh! So I persisted with the video. This video could have been good. But you might as well had no one talking during it. All it does is tell us "what" to do. I can see what is being done by simply watching the screen. What I need to know is why you are doing what you are doing. How did you know what sounds were what in the Spectral Graph. Why do you choose a certain tool over other tools. Why do you pick certain settings instead of default setting? You're killing me here. No wonder Donny Barnes is making so much money from his paid videos.
