People who go to nicer universities (especially out-of-state/ private colleges) normally have parents who can afford to send them to one. She works hard so its possible she has gotten some academic scholarships which helps. I would look at KZbin videos about financial aid/ scholarships at different schools in nyc you plan on attending.
