J 20 Active PLAAF 5th Gen Stealth aircraft for China by Chengdu

This is a 1/72 model of the serial production J-20 in 1/72 scale.
I built the initial prototype which came out in 2012, the last (i believe the 9th or 10th prototype which came out in 2018, and now this first model of the production series (of which 48 have been built by early 2020.
This is a good model and it is from a new Chinese make, Dreamland models which may be a subsidiary of Trumpeter.
But it is a good quality model which is well detailed and fit together very well. No warpage, no chaff, etc.
The Chinese spent a lot of time on this aircraft.
First following the US into thinking it would not be ready as a full prototype until 2020, then surprising the US Secretary of defense by rolling it out on his visit in 2012 under the Obama administration.
It is a very capable aircraft with a very similar load to the F-22 of the US. But the US cut off production in 2012 and have only 175 F-22s while the Chinese will certainly build 400-600 J-20s. They may not be quite as stealthy either with active or passive stealth, particularly i IR...but they are definitely and advanced, 5th generation stealth fighter and the only country to produce them in numbers outside the US.
With the US F-35, of which 500 have already been produced on the way to what looks like potentially a total production run of near 5,0000, the US and its allie will seem to continue to have the edge in numbers and capability.
But the Chinese are looking to develop a carrier built 5th generation stealth aircraft now that they have seen the great interest by US allies in them where Italy, the UK, JApan, and Korea are already buying them for their two carriers each. Australia and India are also expressing interest, and the US is converting four of its 11 or 12 LHA/LHD amphibious ships into escort carriers carrying 24-28 F-35Bs.
Should the Chinese develop such an aircraft and out it on their carriers, it will be a significant further step forward.
In the mean time they have this very excellent fighter in the J-20 to be launched from inland bases to defend their homeland.

We all start from somewhere. Same goes to China with their J20s. It is more of a learning platform for them right now. But next time they decide to produce a new 5th generation aircraft, am 100% sure they will succeed since they will apply the knowldege , skill and mistakes they studied from the J20s.

@殇弑年 b站下面的评论后边的内容与多党制有关，诚然因为政治问题，多党制话题会被删除，但是要明确一点，多党制本身是利弊参半，它给人的第一印象是良性竟争，适者生存。其实不然，这样的观点是好的，但是不现实，如果政党和选民的实力差距维持在一个相对稳定的区间，党政其实是起到些积极作用的，但资本市场不是永动机，需要不断为它供给“养分”，选民难免会被资本市场喰食财富，只是多于少的差别，久而久之，双方实力差距越来越大，选民渐渐的与政党脱钩，这就出现了现在得独断关税，一天民主四年专制的情况，而多党竞选也成了不同利益集团厮杀的平台，开空头支票已经司空见惯，为了财团牟利才是第一要务。

Thank you for the kind words. I try and keep up to date on all the latest, and then build models accordingly including coming upgrades and planned developments that I scratch build. For example. Look at the USS Enterprise, CVN-80 video I made with a complete airwing of 2030 6th gen aircraft. There is no model so I took a Trumpeter Nimitz and completely rebuilt it to be a Ford and then had friends put together both Boeing and Grumman current non-sensitive designs for their US Navy 6th generation plans and then loaded the carrier with them, a number of F-35Cs, EA-18 Growlers, and also the new on board delivery V-22s. I am in the process of taking a Flight IIA BUrke and lengthening it and scratch building CIWS LAWS (Laser Weapons) and Ril Guns (40mm CIWS Rail Guns) as well as a main 140mm Rail Gun, and then making the vessel 175 feet and built with dual band radars with AESA larger than the Flight II. It should be out in the next week or two. It has been a tough build, but the US is considering building up to 40 Burke Flight IVs similar to the Sejong the Great we helped Korea build, except with more Mk-41 VLS and also 80 Mk-57 PVLS. It will be a VERY HOT and heavily armed cruiser type vessel that displaces 12-13000 tons.

I do not think they are better than the latest AIM 120. Time will tell. Both the F-22 and the F-35 have better active and passive stealth, as well as far better IR stealth for the engines. But the J-20 is a VERY good aircraft that cannot be taken for granted at all. No same American pilot or leader would do so. They respect the new PLA equipment. But they still lag in naval aircraft, especially in SSNs, which will make the GUGE difference, and in terms of various aspects of stealth. The PLA is working on all of these areas. They really need a VTOL 5th gen stealth aircraft. Right now the Koreans, the Japanese, the Australian, INdia, the Royal Navy, Italy, and Spain are buying F-35Bs to equi their VTOL carriers with. That had added abut 12 new carriers in the Western Pacific, and the US has another 12 total, and is adding our of their LHA/LHDs reconfigured for 24-28 F-35Bs. It will be very difficult or th PLAN to keep up with all of the nations and their carrier groups and newer AEGIS and other modern DDGs and FFGs they are building to escort these carriers. And f the PLAN builds another tow CVs, as I expect them two, watch out for the JMSDF to build two more, even larger carriers than the two Izumos. The Chinese, IMHO, simply but two many carriers out at once and it has alarmed these other countries who are countering it with all of their carrier combines embarking the 5th generation VTOL carriers.
