I've only been to Texas once. Northern Alberta Canada born and raised, - yet every episode of TCR makes me homesick for Texas!

I only discovered TCR a couple of years ago on KZbin. Bob Phillips was a pleasure to listen to, but J.B. Sauceda hit it out of the park his first time up. At almost 85 years old, I don't know how many more years I'll get to enjoy TCR, but with J.B. at the helm, those years that I do have will be enjoyable, I'm sure. I was born in Abernathy in 1939, then lived in Amarillo until the summer of '52, when my family moved to Albuquerque for a job. After graduation from HS in 1958, I joined the Navy, where I served for 30 years. After I retired from the Navy, I moved to Phoenix for a job that I really wanted as a Navy JROTC instructor. Even though I haven't lived in Texas since '52, I've always appreciated the fact that I am a native-born Son of Texas. When I do draw my final breath, I'll leave this earth with the knowledge that the Eyes of Texas are upon me.

I have watched this show since it first aired, on my deployments to war my family would tape them for me and I would show my buddies the shows that they recorded. I am now since retired from the Army, still overseas working, and thank goodness for KZbin I can still watch the new Beginning Mr Sauceda is bringing to the show. Keep on those back roads brother, you are doing a tremendous job and I know Bob is resting easy knowing that this legacy has been passed on to true Texas hands.

Great job Mr. Sauceda!! It was great to know of your Rio Grande Valley connection, San Benito in particular. It would be wonderful if you would consider visiting with the fine folks at the Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame & Museum located in San Benito. The children of the founder, Mr. Rey Avila, continue his dream and they are doing some amazing work. Not only is San Benito home to the beloved Baldemar Huerta (aka - Freddy Fender ) but also to your dad! Perhaps a visit soon would work into your schedule. Best to you and congrats once again!
