I was born in Anson, grew up in southeastern New Mexico and made several dips into and out of this great State before coming home to roost for good in 1987. About a year before that, I discovered TCR on a television station across the state line in Midland/Odessa…. It’s been wonderful beyond what words can convey to have had the pleasure to “hop in and take a ride” with Bob and then with Bob and Kelli for all these years. We will miss you but wish you all the best in your retirement. It will be like watching good friends move away. Peace, health, love and happiness to you both, my friends!

Began watching as a freshman in high school after my folks moved us to Texas. Every video was like weekend bucket list. I've been to Big Bend, Gruene Hall, countless diners (Bluebonnet Cafe was special!), listened to Doug Smith play 'West Texas' on piano, and been from one end of Texas to the other letting the land and people soak into my soul to the point where I could unabashedly say I'm a Texan. I'd not have any of those memories without y'all! My favorite videos are Central Texas Tools, Staff of Honor, and St. Augustine Catholic Church In fact, I'm going back to watch some more of your wonderful videos. You will be missed. God bless your work, yourselves, and the great state of Texas!

Awwwwe 🥺😢 it’s your voice that I find comforting and will absolutely miss the most. When one of your shows are on the TV and I hear your voice it instantly takes me back to 20 years ago when I first started watching. Growing up in the big sea of cities in DFW, it wasn’t until I married young @ 20 to a big strong West Texas country boy. We moved in with his folks for a few months and then buying the house across the street from them. I became accustomed to their routine of watching the show every Sunday morning after a big country breakfast. The show actually helped me form a relationship with my FIL, whom I look up to as a father for 25 years now. This city girl didn’t know it at the time but the country life is what saves her ❤ I will miss you and nothing against the new guy, I’m sure he’ll do fine, but it just won’t be the same. I loved getting to see all the years that have past as you as the host. Bravo to you, kind sir!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 BRAVO

Thank you Bob. You’ve been doing this show for almost as long as I’ve been alive. I grew up in a farm in Waller county and our family used to watch Ron Stone and “The Eyes of Texas”. Then I remember seeing TCR while visiting friends in Waco and was hooked on TCR too. I thought how great Texas is to have two great reporters telling the world its history and stories. Well I live in DFW these days and have been a TCR fan for a long time. Thank you for helping us explore the state we love. I will miss your friendly voice and calming stories, but I’ve still got KZbin to re-explore your decades of travels. And thanks for picking JB to take the keys. I’ve been a fan of his for several years. He will do a great job. But you will be missed. Come back and surprise us once in a while. Until then, best wishes, and job well done, sir!

I was in high school in Carrollton just outside of Dallas when 4 country reporter started up. I remember how new the idea was to have a person going around the area interviewing just regular people. How the show brought out the special qualities we all have. This is what makes Texas, Texas! It’s is the folks. Thank you Bob for bringing that out to have us all appreciate our fellow Texans! Thank you Kelly for your support to Bob in this career and for what you added later. I’ll miss you both but will still watch my belovedTCR!! God bless you both!

I was privileged to be interviewed by Bob and Kelli. It was an incredible experience. They are the most delightful people in the world… the kind you hate to see leave. Bob and Kelli, Peggy and I wish you well on your next adventure and thank you for your generosity.

I grew up in the Dallas area watching Bob on 4 Country reporter. When I was in high school, I really liked his Young Country Reporter where he went to visit high schools and highlight kids like myself. Thank you, Bob Phillips.

Bob, I've been watching for almost as long as you have been producing. Though I am not in Texas right now, I look forward to seeing your show to keep me anchored there. Enjoy your retirement, but please keep the reruns going, as they are timeless reminders of why Texas will always be HOME.
