They always think "the grass is greener over there" Then they leave, look back and see even greener grass where they just left , that's because they fail to realize they block the sun for their own green grass to grow where they are.

Yeah, I know. lol. What about the newest album, though? They tried to make a more aggressive, heavy record. I thought they did a good job, & Mike actually had a lot more solos. They were longer & pretty killer. I admit, it still doesn't sound dark enough to sound too much like the old stuff, but it was good to hear more heavy Staind. -Stuff closer to their roots. There's just something about the old stuff, though. I agree. -Something beautiful & absolutely powerful behind the emotion/darkness

@JLA12301985 Yeah, they are. I just wondered if you listened to the new one, since it's a little edgier and more aggressive like the older albums you like, even though it's still completely different in some ways. Aaron's emotion has always helped fuel the music, and he does have little sad or angry emotions these days to base the music (being a husband/father and happier man like you were saying). But yeah, Staind's more well known for the riffs. I just thought it was cool that they were able

[Verse 1] And it's been awhile since I could hold my head up high And it's been awhile since I first saw you And it's been awhile since I could stand on my own two feet again And it's been awhile since I could call you [Chorus] And everything I can't remember As fucked up as it all may seem The consequences that are rendered I've stretched myself beyond my means [Verse 2] And it's been awhile since I could say that I wasn't addicted and It's been awhile since I could say I love myself as well and It's been awhile since I've gone and fucked things up, just likе I always do And it's been awhile, but all that shit seems to disappear when I'm with you [Chorus] And еverything I can't remember As fucked up as it all may seem The consequences that I've rendered I've gone and fucked things up again [Solo} [Bridge] And it's been awhile since I could look at myself straight And it's been awhile since I said I'm sorry And it's been awhile since I've seen the way the candles light your face And it's been awhile, but I can still remember just the way you taste [Chorus] And everything I can't remember As fucked up as it all may seem to be, and I know it's me I cannot blame this on my father He did the best he could for me [Outro] And it's been awhile since I could hold my head up high And it's been awhile since I said I'm sorry

Yeah I love their new album, Tormented, dysfunction, & BTC were the very best. But at least they ain't still doing Illusion of progress type stuff. I like that album don't get me wrong, but it wasn't the best of Staind. If Staind took a trip back to their older stuff I'd love it, but it still wouldn't be the same right?
@JLA1230198512 жыл бұрын
yeah he's still got it, but his music ain't as dark & angry, but yet there's nothing for him to be angry about. He's married with 3 daughters, & not he's 40, but his earlier stuff was & is better then the newer stuff hands down lol.
