STORY
月野うさぎたちは、束の間の平和を取り戻し、普通の女子高生としての生活を送っていた。
その矢先、うさぎの恋人である地場衛がアメリカへ留学することに。衛の見送りの空港で、うさぎは衛から婚約指輪を渡される。ふたりが未来を誓った直後、衛は何者かの手によってうさぎの目の前で消滅させられてしまう。
衛が消えた現実を受け止めきれないうさぎは、その記憶を心の奥底にしまい込んでしまった。
そんな中、うさぎたちの前に、突如セーラーギャラクシア率いるシャドウ・ギャラクティカ、そしてセーラースターライツが現れる。セーラースターライツが敵か味方かわからないまま、セーラー戦士たちは圧倒的な強さを持つセーラーギャラクシアに、力の源である“セーラー・クリスタル”を奪われ、次々と消されていく。

My favorite parts is 0:44 to 0:57. Love that Chibi Chibi turned Usagi into eternal sailor moon with the others fighting in the back. It's symbolic of Usagi's fragile mental state in the arc and Chibi Chibi giving strength, being there for her when no one can and how she holds Chibi Chibi close in appreciation. Ending beautifully with all the girls symbolically swirling around her but not standing by her, indicating their absence then the Moon Chalice appears which holds all their combine strength shining saying even in death they're always there giving Usagi strength to keep on fighting.

I actually started to cry when it hit me the OP was a remake of the S opening with references to the other OP's. I know some fans are upset about parts of Cosmos having scenes of 90's fan pandering but as someone who is one of those diehard 90's fans, watching this for the first time truly felt like a celebration of *my* Sailor Moon. This grand culmination has been 30 years in the making, and the wait finally paid off. My inner 8 year old self would be on the floor right now. We are so fucking back. My god.

Holy shit that opening flight angle is from Super S AND THEY MANAGED TO SNEAK THE S FLIGHT ANGLE IN THERE TOO! NO WAY THEY'RE JUST RECREATING THE S OPENING ENTIRELY? 仕事でセーラームーン展に携わった時に知ったのですが、作画監督(チーム)が、ETERNALから平成アニメチームに戻ってました！それで見慣れた顔になったのだと納得しました(妹がセーラームーン好きだったので) クリスタルの作画は違和感すごかったのですが、原画に近い絵はどっちかと、聞かれるとクリスタルの方が近くて当時驚いた記憶です。

@@63Face etanalのキャラクターデザインから、90’sアニメのRまで携わっていた只野和子さんが参加されてキャラクターのクオリティがグッと上がった気がします。Crystalは原作に近いビジュアルでしたが、アニメとしては違和感が強くてなかなか作品に集中できませんでした。できたら3期のデスバスターズ編から只野和子さんが参加してもらえたらと思ってしまいます。ウラヌスとネプチューンのビジュアルに不満だったので。同じく旧アニメでキャラクターデザインをされてた伊藤郁子さんにも参加して欲しかったですね。

Now that's how you do a proper OP sequence, by combining the one from Sailor Moon S and the Super S with a new creativity and addition while maintaining the old song but with an upgrade. This is what people expected when all the promo material for Eternal came out. they used Moonlight densetsu, and then when it wasnt in the movie, people were pissed. Out of the crystal project, theyve only had 2 successes, Season 3 and Cosmos. All the other arcs they found ways to blow chunks.

I mean it's not like they'll going to use the entire soundtrack from the past into Cosmos for us to concern about.

Stumbling blocks aside, it's been so incredible to witness the past decade's Sailor Moon revival. It's everything I ever wanted a kid. I don't care if the fan service upsets people. Remember that it's not just about 10 years of Crystal, we're celebrating 30 years of Sailor Moon. That '90s show is a worldwide cultural touchstone and a major influence on a lot of the animation that came after it. And everyone's getting what they want here, a beautiful marriage between the show and the manga. That's absolutely worth celebrating.

Am I totally crying in happiness, joy, excitement and delight on how absolutely beautiful and too precious and glorious the Sailor Moon Cosmos Part 1 opening is? YES, YES, YES, YES I TOTALLY AM!!!!! What amazes me is that Season 5 was the only season with a different opening from other 4 Seasons and now they do the 5th Season as a movie but with the first 4 Seasons's opening! I really love that we now finally have a Sailor Stars Opening similar to the first 4 seasons's! I always wanted to know how it would look like. Not only that but they also remade the Opening from S, my favorite Sailor Moon Opening! This is the best Opening ever! 🥰🩷🩷🩷

​​​​@@daviussix3031 con respecto a eso tengo entendido de que no hay una confirmación sobre continuar la historia,solo que mencionó que tenía una idea para una nueva sailor . La historia ya lleva bastante tiempo finalizada y seria un milagro que la continuará como llegó a hacerse con el manga de sakura card captor. En el caso de que llegara a hacer algo con la idea lo más probable es que salga algo como el one shot de paralel sailor moon o simplemente que quede como una idea más,pero eso si en cualquiera de los casos el solo hecho de que llegara a salir algo seria maravilloso.

i love it, parts of S and parts of SuperS with a little nod to R in the title card, and i love that to this day this song doesnt need to be translated as i learned the lyrics a long time ago... one of the more unique ways that sailor moon got me into Japanese anime and trying to learn the language as a whole, if this is in the movies i really cant wait to see this, hoping for an international release so soon

What a perfect combination of celebrating both the manga and the 90’s anime! The animation looks like a great mix between the two as well! This is what fans have been wanting and I’m so happy to see it here. What a fantastic way to the end the series. I wish Crystal got this sort of love (and budget) from the beginning! I definitely would love seeing seasons 1-2 (maybe even 3) remade into movies like this with this kind of quality, but I know that probably won’t happen.
