In essence, the album is literally about his pursuit to happiness. From first being born (Jan 28) through his younger years to when he first discovered materialism and the high life of LA etc...but realising after having all those things he lacks happiness so going back home and discovering in reality, happiness comes from things like contentment, family, close friends etc etc

The album worked like a charm with making me feel better. God is now a big big big part of my life and found better friends to be around. Such a beautiful reaction. I remember listening to this album when I had just started university and was feeling quite lost at the time. Listening to this album was just different. To see someone else experience it for the first time and truly appreciate it's greatness hits me right in the feels.

Hey Shelby! I’ve seen a few of your videos and I just wanna say I really like how descriptive you are with what you love about each track as it goes and take in the tone, theme, and aesthetic of each song by following the lyrics too. It shows that you put in effort tryna understand the artist’s perspective which may take multiple listens after especially with Hip-Hop albums. If you enjoyed 2014FHD I’d definitely recommend J Cole’s follow up “4 Your Eyez Only,” you’d love it! 🔥

You hit the nail on the head with your take on this album. It achieved a balance with lyrics and production that’s kinda rare and that’s why it’s a classic. The replay value is insane! I mean when compared to Kendrick TPAB which is so lyrically dense and that’s great it gets a lot of praise for that but it kills the replay value compared to DAMN or GKMC album.
