Great album. Great reaction. This albums theme is that of Cole's life. A tale of 2 citiez: the story is that since his friend got robbed in the first verse, he’s decided that this is his only option to achieve the nice life that he’s dreaming of in the first verse (white picket fence with some trees). It’s kind of like describing how people come to the “kill or be killed” mentality in underrepresented neighbourhoods in America. If that’s all you’re accustomed to, then it’s easy to fall into that kind of lifestyle.
