In 2024 Kendrick gave you a huge hit (Not Like Us), gave you lyrical with punches different flows etc(euphoria) gave you artistic with (The Grahms) gave you the serious thoughtful underground (6:16 in LA)(Watch The Party Die). Kendricks voice and message seem to hold more weight with people. So in my mind he's shown himself to be a more versatile/dynamic and more impactful artist which for me makes him better in 2024. J. First of all “I made you look” didn’t need a remix. The original was solar heat vision, laser sunfire. The original was 3 killer verses from Nas that amount to a better song than the remix. However, I very much enjoy the remix- bringing the Homies in and letting them flex on a killer beat is part of what hip-hop does. And I think it just expanded the reach of the song. Which leads us to the Luda conversation. Having Luda on the song was smart for many reasons, if nothing else it brings another region (the south) into play. Luda is a good rapper, He’s an energetic rapper and he’s a solid rapper who excels at things that some of the casuals and the “cloth” enjoy (jokes, tonation, punch lines, etc) But he was out classed (to those who respect bars) on that song. Actually , I would’ve preferred 50 on that song, personally I would’ve rather Styles be on that song. But SP was locked up, and 50 was beefing with everyone. Between the original and the remix Nas delivered four verses all different- different pocket, flows, different textures-and still gave his people space to eat (when a nigga didn’t have to). Kiss had a short verse with charisma and jokes (with some recycled barz) Luda had jokes and charisma (but not on Kisses level with less gravitas), and Nas came totally different from kiss and Luda ( and different from his other verses) by delivering crazy technical bars (but the verse was too long and some might say overkill). Let’s be clear, The song didn’t need Luda, but Nas is the type of nigga to give opportunities and show motherfuckers love. But don’t get it twisted Nas at 1, Jada 2nd, Luda at 3rd; but the remix at 1, one of the best in hip-hop history.

@@Chill_Brill I was talking about this decade Since the argument was whos better NOW even then knock the hustle, sacrifices, and a lot is up there foshure

@@jefjef601Everything Kdot dropped this decade is way more memorable, impactful and different. Cole sound the same on every track, all that multi syllable rhyming is what Kdot has been doin earlier in his career. He has a Pulitzer Prize for his lyrics and Cole still ain't made something as close to SAMIDOT nor Cartoon and Cereals.

And you are basically downplaying songs on Mr.Morale like Father Time, Mother I Sober, Count me out, Savior, N95, Mirror.

Imo, Cole is a better writer line for line. But Kdot clears outside of that as far as subject matter, albums, flows, quality of music, impact. He’s not going to do the double entendres, Multies or internal rhyme scheme. A lot of rapper write better than Pac for example, was not the best lyrically, but ain’t to many you putting above him. Same with Cube, Face, Prodigy and a bunch of others. Cin is right. And let me know when Cole can do a Rigamortis….. this Cole argument reminds of of ppl that say Lebron can guard all 5 positions but it never played out in reality.

I prefer Cole. Kendrick is my number 2. Cole is more consistent. Sometimes Kendrick is a little too abstract for me.

Y’all talking crazy. Have you never listened to Nosetalgia? “Quantum physics could never show you the world I was in. When I was ten back when nine ounces had got you ten and nine times out of ten, niggas don't pay attention and when there's tension in the air, nines come with extensions” his whole verse is crazy! “Cartoons and Cereal” “N95” his whole verse on Baby Keem “Family Ties” His whole verse on “Wow” “Euphoria” was so crazy that you really run out of breath rapping it lol. I could go on and on. Cole isn’t touching him.

The Offseason is a more accessible album than TPAB. It’s not a better delivered concept and arranged body of work from start to finish and I don’t even mess with TPAB like that but yea lol.
