I love when J. Cole is on his super conscious shit... High for Hours, Brackets, etc.
@yuhmuhfuhkuh6 жыл бұрын
I believe you can play this album in reverse and it tells a different story just like DAMN.: "Will I fall? Will I fly?" "Choose wisely" 1985 (Intro to "The Fall Off") KOD backwards is "The Fall Off" in which J. Cole starts off as his usual demon-killing self but then gradually becomes just as bad if not worse than the young popular drug-addicted rapper he criticized on 1985 eventually leading to his overdose. "The Fall Off" is the version of KOD that results in the death of J. Cole by the hands of King Overdose otherwise known as kiLL edward. Kevin's Heart is the turning point in which he can either press decline on demons' temptations or fall into those temptations. When playing KOD forwards, he presses decline and the lingering of the temptations on his mind is not strong enough for him to succumb; when playing KOD backwards, he presses decline but the lingering of the temptations on his mind is too strong and he begins to succumb. J. Cole is trying to tell us that we must choose how we deal with demons/pain. We can either meditate or medicate, fly or fall. Choose wisely.
