From my own experience and what I've heard from my friends who are also the middle child, the middle child tends to have it the hardest. We tend to literally be stuck in the middle of most family issues or situations. Usually end up being more understanding, mature, peaceful but very protective and reliable, we are the glue. More is expected from the middle child for some reason and it's common that we get passed over for a lot of things. We're all loved the same but there is a special type of excitement for parents over their first and last born because they are the beginning and the end, the middle child is kinda stuck in limbo lol. Obviously it's not true for all but it seems to be a common narrative for the middle child.
